Harry Maguire’s last-gasp glaring miss in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool may not have been all it seemed – because new footage suggests that Joshua Zirkzee was probably offside in the build-up.
As Maguire blazed over the chance, official lines applied by the VAR team at Stockley Park were not applied for match broadcast.
But unofficial lines drawn by the Sky Sports team reveal that had Maguire scored, the goal would have had to withstand an ultra-close offside decision.
And from what we can see, Zirkzee was probably offside with the toes of his left foot seemingly just beyond the line of the last defender.
