Lewis Hamilton says he “could not be more excited” for the year ahead as he prepares for his first season with Ferrari in 2025.
In a post on LinkedIn, Hamilton – who turns 40 on January 7 – spoke of his eagerness to get started with his new team, having signed a multi-year deal back in February of last year.
The seven-time world champion is the most successful driver in F1 history with 105 wins and 104 pole positions. Michael Schumacher is the only other driver with seven world titles.
“I could not be more excited for the year ahead,” wrote Hamilton in his post. “Moving to Scuderia Ferrari, there’s a lot to reflect on.
“To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace the change. Whether you’re switching industries, learning a new skill, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful.
“Your next opportunity is always within reach. Here’s to 2025 – a year of embracing new opportunities, staying hungry, and driving forward with purpose. Let’s make it one to remember. Andiamo #newjob.”
Hamilton teams up with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, taking over from Carlos Sainz, who has since made the switch to Williams.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will be targeting a fifth-straight F1 world title in 2025, a feat only previously achieved by Schumacher from 2000 to 2004.
The 2025 season calendar features the record of 24 Grands Prix for the second successive year although this time kicks off in Melbourne, Australia on March 16 with Albert Park staging its first season-opener since 2019.
