The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Season Finals has garnered a peak viewership of 606,193, recorded during the grand final between G2 Esports and Fnatic, which took place in Munich, Germany.
According to esports data platform Esports Charts, this marks a decrease in peak compared to the 2023 Season Finals (654,942). Last year’s finals in Montpellier, France also featured the same two teams battling for the title.

Among co-streamers, Spanish co-streamer Ibai ‘Ibai’ Llanos Garatea was the most-watched during the event as the MAD Lions KOI’s owner peaked at 143,857 viewers with an impressive average of over 83,000 people. The trend continues to prove the importance of co-streaming in the current era of esports to draw a significant part of viewers.
While the peak viewership is greater than the 2024 LEC Summer (417,113) and Spring (593,554) splits, the LEC’s season-ending tournament recorded a lower number than the Winter split (830,816).
Some fans within the community have complained about the lack of excitement for the Season Finals given the close proximity to the Summer split. Additionally, the three-split structure has caused large decreases in viewership for the latter, with both Summer Splits in 2023 and 2024 recording less than 500,000 viewers.
However, the LEC Season Finals’ hours watched totalled over 9m, marking a marginal increase from the same tournament the year before (8.762m) despite the reduced amount of run time (four hours less than in 2023). Moreover, this year’s edition also recorded a higher average viewership of 290,607, compared to 2023’s 244,547 figure.
Out of the five most-watched matches during the tournament, four of them included G2, proving that the esports organisation is still the most-followed team this season.
With the LEC Season Finals over, G2, Fnatic, and MAD Lions KOI will represent the European region at the 2024 League of Legends World Championship. The event will begin on September 25th and takes place across Berlin and Paris, with the grand final at the O2 Arena in London.
