Gaming channel OnGameNet (OGN) has secured a two-year broadcasting deal with Riot Games’ League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK).

According to a report by Korean gaming news outlet Naver, OGN will broadcast all future LCK matches for 2025 and 2026 through IPTV and cable TV channels. This starts with the ongoing LCK Cup, the first split of the new competitive season.

With the new deal, OGN will broadcast LCK games and content starting on February 10th and will be available on weekdays at 11 PM KST.

Launched in 2000, OGN was one of the first television channels to broadcast esports competitions in South Korea. The company produced high-profile tournaments for several games, including RTS game StarCraft II and other esports titles, including Overwatch and League of Legends with The Champions, South Korea’s tier-one competition before it rebranded to the LCK.

Over the years, however, the collaboration was met with controversies after Riot Games decided to split the broadcasting rights of the league between OGN and its main competitor, SPOTV. In 2019, OGN’s operations were terminated by the game developer as Riot Games opted to produce the competition in-house at LoL Park.

Following the end of the deal, OGN faced several challenges in maintaining relevance in the esports space. The company was bought out by entertainment company CJ ENM, but it was later sold to OP.GG in 2022.

OGN CEO, Nam Yoon-seung, commented: “I am overwhelmed by the opportunity to program the LCK, which has the best reputation in the world. We will continue to grow into an esports game channel that is loved by viewers.”

The LCK 2025 Cup is entering its play-in phase, which will determine the three remaining teams to join Dplus KIA, Gen.G and KT Rolster in the playoffs stage. The winner of the LCK Cup will represent the region at League of Legends’ new international tournament, First Stand, which will take place in South Korea later next month.
