Last night’s PlayStation Showcase opened with a bang. Developer Aspyr Media announced Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake for PlayStation 5 and PC. Shortly after the announcement, a PlayStation Blog post revealed that the remake is a “console exclusive on PlayStation 5 at launch,” which makes it sound like the legendary RPG will be coming to other platforms at some point in the future (at least we hope so anyway!). The remake is being rebuilt “from the ground up with the latest tech to match the groundbreaking standard of innovation established by the original, all while staying true to its revered story,” lead producer Ryan Treadwell explained. Aspyr Media recently ported both Star Wars Episode I: Racer and Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse to modern consoles. After months of rumours and speculation, it’s great to see that the remake is indeed a real thing. Here’s hoping it comes to Xbox consoles eventually.
