While fans of its predecessor would’ve no doubt locked in their purchase of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 before it released, those that jumped on it post-launch after seeing its glowing reviews will have missed out on a pretty awesome pre-order bonus. The Lion’s Crest bundle provides Henry with some awesome weaponry and one of the coolest armor sets – even his trusty steed gets a look-in, with an imposing caparison. It was certainly an enticing incentive to pre-order KCD 2, but now it’s available to all as part of a DLC add-on, and it comes with its own questline too.
Previously used by the famous knight Sir Brunswick, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s Lion’s Crest set is a sight to behold. It decks Henry out in a stunning black, red, and gold plate armor, complete with a solid gold figure of a lion sitting atop the helmet. It’s certainly up there as one of the best Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 armor sets when it comes to appearances alone. Your horse also gets a similarly slick black and red caparison so that you can both look the part while exploring the RPG. Rounding out the set are two weapons: a polearm and a dagger.
However, these items aren’t automatically bestowed to Henry – it comes with its own side quest that you need to complete in order to obtain all the separate pieces of it. I’ll avoid actual spoilers, but it’s essentially a treasure hunt spanning several locations, and it’s pretty fun.
Warhorse is now giving all players the chance to grab the Lion’s Crest set, rather than keep it as a pre-order exclusive. The cosmetic bundle, and the side quest associated with it, has been released as a standalone paid DLC that’ll set you back $4.99 / £3.99. While it may irk some fans who pre-ordered the game that everyone can access these brilliant items, they can still find comfort in the fact that they technically got them for free.
The Lion’s Crest DLC isn’t the only Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 announcement today either, as Warhorse has also revealed that the game is now available on GOG after it initially launched on Steam and Epic Games Store for PC players.
