Through Knight’s Tale you can make a variety of different choices that impact the game. This King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Choices & Consequences Guide goes through every single choice we made in the game, explaining the consequences for each action both immediately, and potential ripples later in the story.
Almost every conversation in King Arthur: Knight’s Tale has choices. Almost all of these are just for story. You speak to a character, learn their background, their place in the world, and then the conversation ends. These conversations are displayed in white text in the dialogue window. Other choices, those displayed in yellow, usually end the conversation or take it down a particular route. These choices also very rarely have any impact.
The choices listed below are only those that seem to impact or shape the story, influence the path of a character, etc. We have included the first few yellow dialogue choices just as an example. On a quick note, knowing the full extent of the consequences is incredibly difficult on a single play through so the guide should get more accurate as I continue to play.
A lot of choices involve recruiting specific characters. Check out our character unlock guide to see if they are characters you want.
Many choices tell you the outcome with a small icon. When you are making a choice, look for the “Exit” or “Attack” icon at the end of the dialogue box. This will answer most choices for you, whether to fight or not. So far, most of them have minimum consequences.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Choices & Consequences Guide – Act I
This is the first choice you get when you meet Sir Tewelyn as you escape the starting dungeon.
He can’t be dead, otherwise I wouldn’t be here Sir Tewelyn explains something was waiting for the ship. You then need to defeat him in combat.
So what? Don’t waste my time If you make this choice Sir Tewelyn tells Mordred that something was waiting for the ship and the darkness took the king. He tells you Arthur is beyond the bridge of sorrows. After the conversation, you will have to fight Sir Tewelyn.
Sir Kay asks you what you plan to do with Camelot.
I have decided. This is my throne room now, and with my band of selected knights, I will fulfill my destiny If you make this choice you will earn you a point in Tyrant. This is part of the Morality system explained after the tutorial. This is marked as an event on the morality chart but no other immediate effect.
I have been chosen by the Lady of the Lake as the protector of Camelot. I will not take this throne, but I will make my Round Table and take on this quest If you make this choice, the mission ends as with the other choice. However, you are given a point of Rightful instead of Tyrant.
They always do. Weaklings. We’ll see about that when I finally meet Arthur Sir Balan explains King Arthur reached the shore beyond the Bridge of Sorrows, and to start looking in Whispering Cove. Sir Balan says your goals align and he will join you.
You have a point. Do you have any idea where he could be? The conversation is identical to the other choice.
Sir Balin, I need a knight with your talents at my Round Table. The bridge is yours If you make this choice you will earn Tyrant points and Sir Balin will join your Round Table
The bridge must remain under my protection. I am the ruler of Camelot, and you will both obey me If you make this choice you get no morality points. Sir Balan respects your decision but Sir Balan says you’re making a mistake. However, he does not threaten you when you make this decision. Selecting this choice, both Sir Balin and Sir Balan will join your Round Table.
Sir Balan, by the law this bridge is yours If you make this decision you will earn Righteous points and Sir Balan will consider you a humble king and offer his services. Sir Balan will join the Round Table. Sir Balin promises you’ll regret this one day.
At the end of the side mission Treachery, there is a choice to determine Sir Lanval’s fate. There is an event that happens after the mission but regardless of your choice, the event is the same.
No. There is no forgiveness in treachery. He dies with all his men. Now! Making this choice rewards you with Tyrant points. You will have to fight Sir Lanval and his men. Sir Lanval’s health is still on 1 HP after the duel so he goes down in a shot. You kill Sir Lanval and all of his men.
Pleading is pointless. Take his head but let his men serve Camelot If you make this decision you get Rightful points. You kill Sir Lanval and his men don’t attack.
You are right. Sir Lanval shall be given a chance at the Round Table. This is the only choice you can make if you want to recruit Sir Lanval. You agree to show mercy. Sir Lanval joins your Round Table and you don’t have to fight him or his men any further.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Choices & Consequences Guide – Act II
During The Curse of Sir Bors Side Mission, this choice happens at a Pict Camp.
You mean the stolen treasure that we’d take back anyway, along with your ugly head You fight the Pict and get the same rewards. You can also recruit Sir Bors if he survives the mission
Pay us the bloodwit! This knight is a hopeless liar. You can take him If you make this choice the Picts will not fight you. You can then decide to let the Pict kill him. Sir Bors is killed and you cannot add him to your Round Table. The items in the chest are identical for both choices.
Sirs Bors, the decision is yours Sir Bors says the curse has been lifted, it wasn’t Caitlin. He asks you to let her go. She leaves the area.
You are a Pict, our enemy You tell Sir Bors to kill her but he refuses. He said he cursed himself through blindness. He asks you to let her to. You must accept his decision and she leaves.
We don’t hurt defenseless women. Leave Much like the other two choices, this decision lets Caitlin leave the area.
During one of the Side Missions there is a Serpent Saint shrine you interact with that gives you a choice.
Order Of The Great Serpent The shrine calls you a liar and says you will feel its wrath. Nothing seems to change at the end of the mission.
Christianity You get +1 to Christianity. The Serpent Saint claims you follow a false god. You have to offer your blood (nothing happens) but it promises you shall receive a gift. Nothing seems to change at the end of the mission.sd
Old Faith You get +1 to Old Faith. The Serpent seems happy with your choices and promises to reward you for your faith. Nothing seems to change at the end of the mission.
If you choose not to let Cynylf sacrifice himself He seems disappointed that you would not complete the ritual. He says he will return after finding someone willing to finish the job. The mission is complete
If you choose to kill him and sacrifice Cynylf You and the druid agree it’s the best choice. You kill Cynylf and the mission is complete.
I could use your knowledge and your scheming, Morgawse. I accept your offer If you make this choice Merlin flees and your mother joins you in fighting off the Pict. At the end of the mission your Mother frees the Artificer. You unlock Lady Morgawse as a playable Hero that you can add to your roster. She does not start with all the abilities she can use in the fight.
I trust Merlin more than you, Mother If you choose to go with Merlin you will fight the Pict soldiers and Lady Morgawse. You have to kill them all, so she is dead and will not return later in the campaign. Choosing this option allows you to recruit Merlin as part of your Round Table. He does start with all of the abilities he uses during the fight.
Choose to defend the left side. There’s a much smaller choke point. Wipe out the enemies there and then head to the other side to help defend the NPC’s.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Choices & Consequences Guide – Act III
During one of the story missions there are several choices with the Council of Wolves. Fight them otherwise they will let you through, and then ambush you later.
During the Side Mission The Battle of the Chasm, you need to stop a siege on a castle. The siege is led by Sir Telewyn. This is part of a chain of Side Missions so you must have completed Sir Telewyn’s previous Side Missions for this Side Mission to be available. After you defeat him in battle you can speak with him and the conversation can, eventually, go one of two directions.
If you recruit Sir Telewyn You can offer to recruit Sir Telewyn. I chose to give him the castle as his seat of power, but he never actually joins as a playable character.
If you kill Sir Telewyn I never got to try this choice due to save files being overwritten
