With today’s Season 4: Episode 7 rollout, the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Xbox achievements should be protected via an offline mode. While Rocksteady hasn’t announced that it is shutting down the servers just yet, the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League achievements should continue to be available when it does go dark. Rocksteady is ending seasonal support for the Xbox third-person shooter in January 2025, so we might see the game taken offline in 2025.Rocksteady is winding down support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice LeagueSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gets final seasonal content todayRocksteady has added an offline mode to the live service titlePlatforms: Xbox Series X|SSeason 4: Episode 7 rolls out to all Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League players today, adding Deathstroke as a new playable character alongside a new medieval-style dimension to explore, new weapons, and more. It also introduces an offline mode, which will “allow you to experience content released for the game, including the main story campaign and all seasonal story mission content, without an internet connection.”The offline mode will also copy the progress you’ve made so far, carrying over your earned and purchased cosmetics and items. It’s a great move, especially as Rocksteady has said that Episode 8, which arrives in January, will be its last, suggesting that support could be dropped soon. It sounds like Rocksteady will keep Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s servers alive for now, so you can continue playing with your pals for the foreseeable. At least we know the game’s Xbox achievements should be protected when that day finally comes to the ailing live service title. “With Deathstroke joining the roster, the Suicide Squad’s crusade against Brainiac is drawing to an end,” Rocksteady says. “Season 4 will finish up with Episode 8, which is scheduled to release in January 2025, and that will serve as the last seasonal Episode for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. “While Season 4 Episode 8 will mark the final battle against Brainiac, all online features will continue to be available, so you’ll still be able to enjoy co-op with friends, as well as all previous seasonal/episodic content. You’ll also have the option to play the game via the new Offline mode, which allows access to the main story campaign and all post-launch seasonal gameplay content without an internet connection.”Rocksteady adding an offline mode to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is great for achievement huntersUntil today’s update, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been an online-only title, requiring you to connect to Rocksteady’s servers to unlock its 50 Xbox achievements. None of the achievements specifically require you to play with other players, so the offline mode should preserve the entire list when Suicide Squad’s servers eventually disappear.Sadly, it comes as no surprise that Rocksteady is preparing to end support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, as the game has been bleeding players since it launched on February 2, 2024. Despite a lengthy delay in 2023 to improve the experience, Rocksteady has struggled to drawn in the numbers needed to sustain a live service title.According to our data (courtesy of GameInsights), which scans a sample of more than 2.4 million Xbox accounts, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League player count peaked on February 11, 2024, and has slowly dwindled by 71.44% in the months since, settling in at 115th on this week’s Xbox Gameplay Chart. We regularly see live service games drop off within a year after launch if they don’t resonate with players. Last week, Ubisoft announced that its free-to-play shooter XDefiant will be shutdown in 2025, and the game has already been delisted from the Xbox store.
