The SEC Tournament title game between Kentucky and South Carolina delivered on the drama and the excitement.
The upstart Wildcat women had won nine straight games to revive their NCAA Tournament hopes and give themselves a shot at winning the SEC Tournament for the first time since 1982. The No. 1 Gamecocks were the last hurdle.
A hard-fought game came down to the final seconds with Kentucky trailing 62-61 with less than 10 seconds remaining. That’s when Dre’una Edwards stepped up for the biggest shot of the season.

Edwards gave the Wildcats a 64-62 lead from the top of the arch with just 42 seconds remaining. South Carolina’s attempt to get off a halfcourt miracle heave fell off the backboard.
Kentucky can now look forward to an NCAA Tournament appearance as one of the hottest teams in America.
