Kayla Harrison calls reporter ‘disrespectful’ for calling Genah Fabian a ‘pretty woman’ to start PFL Playoffs media day interview.
Kayla Harrison was not going to let disrespect go unanswered during the PFL Playoffs media call on Monday. Harrison was joined by opponent Genah Fabian on a Zoom call with media ahead of their semifinal PFL 2021 bout later this week. During the call a media member started his interview off telling Fabian she is a “pretty woman” and calling her by the wrong name before asking his question.
After Fabian corrected the pronunciation of the name, and answered the question, Harrison piped in. Harrison asked the man if he would have done the same thing when interviewing a man, and noted that it was disrespectful.
The media member apologized and tried to explain why he mentioned it but admitted that he wouldn’t have called a male fighter “handsome” in an interview.
The call ended after that, having gone nearly 40 minutes with various reporters, FanSided included.
