Jurassic World Evolution 2 will have far more customisation capability than the first game, judging from the latest of Frontier’s Feature Focus articles. One of the things that could make parks in the first Jurassic World Evolution feel a little stale was the limited guest buildings, meaning you’d see a fair amount of repetition when designing your park. The latest Feature Focus, however, explains how you’ll be able to design your parks with “unique looks” for guest buildings. These guest buildings will be split into either Amenities (small, medium, and large) or Attractions. You can customise these both inside and outside, although the internal customisations are more catered to guest needs, so you won’t see this reflected in the building’s appearance. It sounds as though guest needs will be far more in-depth: “your guests have different interests and different people will be attracted to different areas of your parks based on their interests… from steak houses for adventurers to bowling alleys for nature lovers, the choice is yours.”Externally, meanwhile, you’ll be able to choose between different building facades, roof options, roof decorations, entrance style, signs, colours, lights, and more. This should mean our guest buildings will be a lot more personalised, but it stretches out to the park itself, too — “you will be able to add a variety of decorations to your parks and quickly add in forests, shrubbery, and terrain surfaces with the game’s quick and easy tools.” The devs add that they’ve been working on a higher level of control for terrain tools and brush sizes. Surface brushes will include options for sand, rocks, mud, and gravel, and we’ll then be able to add in bushes, rocks, and trees, while park decorations include chairs, lights, banners, and planters. Frontier adds that it won’t be as in-depth as, say, Planet Zoo, but you “will be able to add a little extra flair to your parks.”Dinosaur customisation, too, has been expanded in the sequel, with you able to choose patterns and colourations. “You will be able to select from several different patterns per dinosaur species, and this will determine what markings they have. Once you’ve set the pattern you can change the colour of the pattern and the base colour of the dinosaur. Colouration is selected from a set of different colour options, and while you won’t be able to make a fluorescent pink T. rex, you will have a wide variety of different combinations of patterns and colourations to choose from.”All in all, the customisation options for Jurassic World Evolution 2 sound far more in-depth than the first game. Which bit are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments!
