Jordan Golf Shoes: Passion for Sport
Michael Jordan’s love for golf is well-documented, and his influence on the sport extends far beyond just being an enthusiastic player. Since his days with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan has been known to hit the links whenever he had free time, often playing multiple rounds a day.
His competitive nature on the basketball court carries over to the fairways, where he is infamous for engaging in high-stakes money matches with fellow athletes and celebrities. These wagers, sometimes reaching tens of thousands of dollars per round, are a testament to his intense drive to win regardless the sport.
Jordan designed and built his own ultra-exclusive golf club, The Grove XXIII. Dubbed “Slaughterhouse 23” by insiders, the course is tailored to Jordan’s fast-paced playing style, with an innovative layout that favors players using golf carts.
The invite-only membership list includes PGA Tour pros, business moguls, and former NBA stars, making it one of the most coveted golf clubs in the world. Jordan’s commitment to the sport is evident in the meticulous design of The Grove XXIII, reflecting both his love for competition and his desire to create a unique golfing experience.
Beyond his personal involvement in the game, Jordan’s partnership with Nike has had a massive impact on golf fashion. His signature sneaker line, Air Jordan Golf, blends the iconic style of classic Jordans with the performance features needed on the course.
The result is a series of golf shoes that appeal to both sneaker enthusiasts and serious golfers. Limited-edition releases, I’m looking at you Air Jordan 4 Golf “Bred”. These have become some of the most sought-after golf shoes. They sell out in minutes.
Jordan merges sneaker culture with golf tradition. That’s influence. That’s passion. And that’s why some of these are an instant classic as soon as they’re available.

Jordan Golf Shoes Review
Nike Air Jordan 14 G – Latest and Greatest Nike Golf Shoes
Pros:
Sleek, modern design with premium comfort
Responsive cushioning for all-day wear
Spikeless outsole for versatility on and off the course
Cons:
Limited traction in wet conditions
Higher price point than other models
Haven’t worn these yet, so I’m not rating them!
Nike Air Jordan ADG 4 – Best Overall Jordan Golf Shoes
Pros:
Comfortable, responsive padding
Stylish look with multiple color options
Spikeless for versatility
Cons:
Limited grip in heavy rain
The Nike Jordan ADG 4 wowed us with its comfort, value for money, clean looks, and impressive traction. The “Just Do It” team crafted the shoes in 7 colors and provides US sizes ranging from 3.5 to 15, catering to short and long feet.
I felt the star performer was the Nike React technology, a lightweight foam that proved highly responsive, cushioned, and protective. It absorbed the impact of every landing, drowning out the shocks and keeping my soles comfortable during my round.
The soft grain leather was another favorite of mine as it looked classy and felt even better at first touch. I feel the leather is durable and will deliver extended use of this footwear. However, its longevity rests on the traction pads, and once they give in, you will have to acquire a new pair.
Speaking of the traction pads, they were impressive, helping me to keep my footing in the early morning dew. Like most spineless shoes, I find they lose their efficiency in the rain, but you will still generate some friction with the turf.
Finally, the ADG 4 are affordable by Nike Air Jordan standards. However, you can find options for less, like the Adidas Men’s Tech Response. But in my opinion, the ADG 4 looks far more stylish.

Nike Air Jordan 1 Low G – Best Value for Money
Pros:
More affordable than other Jordan models
Classic sneaker aesthetic
Water-resistant upper
Cons:
Traction struggles in wet conditions
Nike Air Jordans are typically priced at a premium compared to other golf shoes. However, in my experience, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low G offers the best value for money owing to its style, comfort, and water-resistant finish.
Nike pays homage to the original 1985 sneakers with these new Jordan 1 golf shoes. I found they featured the low-cut design of the original but packed with the cushioning and traction required to traverse the golf course.
I thought the Air Cushioning was the stand-out feature of the 1 Low G shoes because they protected my heels while I walked. Every time I landed, it broke the impact and prompted a cloud-like feel around a typical sensitive area of my feet. Unfortunately, the cushioning was less effective in the midsole and forefoot.
I also welcomed the breathability of the upper, which was reinforced by a host of perforations to keep air constantly flowing through the shoe. Despite the breathable upper, the high-quality genuine leather provided water resistance in morning dew and light rainfall. However, it will struggle to keep moisture out in a downpour.
Finally, I thought the Heritage Traction outsole provided ample grip in dry conditions. However, the moment the turf is wet, it loses efficiency. Instead, I recommend the Air Jordan 12 Low spikes for players that have to contend with regular downpours.

Nike Air Jordan 1 High G – Most Comfortable Jordan Golf Shoes
Pros:
Incredible comfort and ankle support
Water-resistant construction
Iconic high-top sneaker look
Cons:
Can feel warm in hot weather
Note that these are now harder to find. The Jordan 1 High G were new Nike golf shoes in the 2024 edition, which impressed me with their superb cushioning underfoot. Our most comfortable Jordan golf shoes also stood out for their unique high design, style, durability, and traction.
In my experience, the Air Cushioning underfoot is by far the best asset of the Jordan 1 High G. It proved highly responsive on every step. It efficiently caught my heel, drowned vibrations, and promoted a smooth stroll around the links.
I am not used to playing golf in a boot-like shoe, but I may frequently consider it after using the Jordan 1 High G models. They kept my ankles firmly secured during my swing, providing the added support and stability needed to boost power and avoid injury on every swing.
Nike opted for their Heritage Traction pads on the outsole, which proved effective in dry conditions and light rain. However, keeping the pads firmly rooted to the turf became more challenging as the moisture content picked up.
I thought these Jordan golf shoes kept my feet dry in morning dew and light rain due to the water-resistant sides and upper. Nike offers the Jordan 1 High G range in two colors, but the white and pine green design is my favorite.

Nike Air Jordan 6 G – Best Spiked Jordan Golf Shoes
Pros:
Excellent grip with spikes
Water-resistant upper
Durable construction
Cons:
Limited color choices
Higher price than many competitors
Golf shoes with cleats are highly recommended if you play on soft or wet turf, as the spikes help grip the turf and boost your stability. The Nike Air Jordan 6 G range is our top spike golf footwear owing to its traction, comfort, water resistance, and durability.
I appreciated the enhanced grip afforded to me by the cleats as I managed to maintain my footing in all conditions. If your swing is similar to Scottie Scheffler, where you slide on the downswing, you definitely require the friction of the Nike Free-Inspired outsole to remain grounded.
Besides grip, I endorse the breathability and comfort offered by the Air Jordan 6 G shoes, thanks to a wealth of perforations on the sides and upper. I was also impressed by the efficiency of the water-resistant material. However, I would not expose it to extended periods of heavy rainfall.
The internal padding of the Retro 6 G shoes proved soft, comfortable, and responsive, bolstering my stability on every step. The most significant negative of the Air Jordan 6G shoes is their enhanced price tag which is unjustifiable for many amateur golfers.
If you are on a strict budget and appreciate the style and quality of the brand, think about the more affordable ADG Jordan 4 golf shoes.

Common Questions about Jordan Golf Shoes
Can You Wear Jordan 1 Golf Shoes Casually?
Absolutely. The Jordan 1 Golf Shoes mirror the timeless sneaker design that made them famous. The traction pattern is golf-specific, but it’s subtle enough that you can wear them off the course without issue. While they don’t provide the same all-day comfort as traditional sneakers, they’re one of the most stylish and versatile golf shoes available.
Are Jordan Golf Shoes Good?
Yes, I like Jordan golf shoes. But what I like might differ from what you like. The spikeless options, like the ADG 4, offer great ground contact for firm conditions, while spiked models like the Jordan 6 G provide extra stability on softer turf. They may not offer the waterproofing of a FootJoy Premiere or the value of a Skechers Go Golf, but they make a statement on the course and deliver reliable performance.
Are Jordan Golf Shoes Waterproof?
Most Jordan golf shoes feature water-resistant materials rather than full waterproofing. That means they’ll keep your feet dry in light rain or morning dew but may not hold up in a downpour. If waterproofing is a priority, you might consider models like the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour or a FootJoy Pro SL instead.
What Golf Shoes Does Jordan Spieth Wear?
Jordan Spieth wears Under Armour golf shoes. As an Under Armour-sponsored athlete, he plays in custom versions of the Under Armour Spieth series, designed specifically for performance and stability. While his shoes aren’t Jordans, the collaboration between professional golfers and shoe brands has driven innovation across the board.
Should Golfers Wear Spikes or Spikeless Golf Shoes?
Professional golfers wear both spiked and spikeless golf shoes. That often depends on personal preference and course conditions. Spikeless shoes are getting more popular because you can also wear them where grip is less of a concern (like desert golf courses). Spiked shoes have better traction. That makes them a solid fit for links golf courses.
Are Jordan Golf Shoes Worth The Cost?
If you like the style, appreciate the rarity, and can handle a premium price, the answer is simple. Yes, Jordan Golf Shoes usually live up to the hype.
Final Thoughts
For golfers who value both performance and style, Jordan golf shoes are a solid choice. They offer good comfort, reliable traction, and an undeniable cool factor. However, their price tag can be steep, and they lack full waterproofing.
If you’re a die-hard Jordan fan or want to stand out on the course, they’re worth considering. Otherwise, you may find better performance for the price with brands like FootJoy, Adidas, or Under Armour.
