Jason Roy is set to be left out of England’s T20 tour of Pakistan and squad for the T20 World Cup which starts in Australia in October.
England name their squads for both tours later today, and the big-hitting opener who was part of England’s 2019 50-over World Cup winning team is expected to miss out.
Roy has struggled for form this summer with 78 runs in six T20 internationals, averaging 12.66. He also began his Hundred campaign for the Oval Invincible with three ducks in four innings.
It is not yet known who will replace Roy in the squads. There is unlikely to be a recall for Alex Hales, who hasn’t played for England since failing two recreational drugs tests in 2019.
