What is this mysterious Doors Guiding Light entity? Don’t fret, as it’s actually a friend, not a foe.
To meet the Guiding Light yourself, enter Doors! To learn about other entities, read our Doors Floor 2 Seek Chase guide and our Doors Floor 2 Giggles guide.
Doors Guiding Light Guide
Is it dangerous? The short answer is no! As its name suggests, it acts as a guide for the player. When playing Doors myself, I was confused at first as to what this mysterious blue twinkling aura was. It didn’t attack me, and it certainly wasn’t scary in any sense of the word.
If you don’t make any progress within a room after a while, the Guiding Light entity appears. It highlights any potential clues to help you solve the current puzzle or if there’s an item of importance in a drawer or on a table.
If you see a blue aura, it’s perfectly safe to approach! This entity spawns in The Hotel (Floor 1) and The Mines (Floor 2). If you enter the game in Super Hard Mode, the Guiding Light will not appear, so keep this in mind.
This entity also lights up dark rooms, but not by much. If you’re stuck in a room with no lights on, whether they’re automatically off or Rush smashes all the bulbs, the Guiding Light hovers around the correct door.
Other Appearances
There’s a notorious scene with Seek as it chases you, and the Guiding Light spawns in to help direct you on where you need to go! It’s a friendly little fellow. When you are defeated in the game, the screen shows your character floating with a blue moon above. That message you get? That’s the Guiding Light talking to you!
When an entity defeats you a few times, the Guiding Light takes it upon itself to inform you on how to counter the entity in the future. Handy!
