Bandai Namco Games‘ Tekken 8 will be kicking up a storm on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on January 26, 2024, and comes packing a brand new Heat system, not to mention some meticulously-realised character models and backgrounds powered by Unreal Engine 5.. Let’s find out.Is Tekken 8 Available On PS4?Bandai Namco Games has officially confirmed that there will be no Tekken 8 PS4 version released. The game is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5 specifically to take advantage of the latest home consoles and PC, so if you’re playing on PlayStation, you’ll have to get it on PS5. Tekken 7 is available on the PS4 and still boasts an active online community however, so you can still engage in some Ranked fisticuffs on that game to get your Tekken fix.What Is Tekken 8?Tekken 8 is the latest full-fledged entry in the 30-year-old fighting game franchise since Tekken 7 launched on arcades back in 2015 and consoles in 2017. The game picks up some six months after the previous game, and sees Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama looking to settle the score in one epic showdown. The game introduces a new Heat mechanic, which gives players access to a powered-up version of their character for roughly 15 seconds, allowing access to new moves techniques.In addition to the story campaign and usual online modes, Tekken 8 also features a new Arcade Quest, where players enter a fictional world where Tekken 8 has just come out in arcades and your avatar is looking to rise through the ranks to become a Tekken maestro. Tekken Ball also makes a return from Tekken 3, and you can also expect the usual customisation options and a brand new Ghost Battle system where you can fight against some of the toughest opponents out there.
