Is Remix Different? All Fortnite Remix Changes from C2

Nov 2, 2024

What are all of the Fortnite Remix changes in the new update? This is how it differs from Chapter 2 that you remember.

Fortnite is launching a new season, the Remix of Chapter 2. After leaks basically gave the game away, the end of the Fortnite live event came as a surprise when we learned it wasn’t quite Chapter 2 as we thought.

Rather than being a new version of OG, this is different. Only a single season is being recreated, and not in full. Instead, new Fortnite collabs are taking over half the map. The weapons aren’t quite a match either.

Plus, mobility has been altered. By the looks of the trailer, Fortnite Remix is going to play quite different to Chapter 2. Just how different is it and what are the Fortnite Remix changes that we’ve seen so far?

All Fortnite Remix Changes – What’s Different in Fortnite Remix?

Fortnite Remix is taking us back to Chapter 2, but with a lot of changes. The game won’t play like it did in the original version.

There’s a decent number of changes being made. From the POIs, to the loot pool, the remix theme is being taken quite far.

For a start, the game is recreating Chapter 2 Season 2 mainly. The earliest days of this Chapter of Fortnite history are skipped, as is the later seasons. This isn’t quite what we expected from the Fortnite roadmap leaks, but there’s some interesting changes here.

These are all of the alterations from what you remember.

Map Fortnite Remix Changes Each Week – With New Collabs

Fortnite Remix Changes - Map

Rather than being a direct version of the Fortnite Chapter 2 map, it’s going to be a recreation of it with a weekly change.

Each week, a new artist will be featured. No longer is it enough to put new collaborations in the item store and on modes like Festival, each collab is getting a POI that only appears starting in its week.

Snoop Dogg – Week 1

Fortnite Remix Changes - Snoop Dog Agency

Starting in Week 1, where Snoop Dogg takes over the Agency. Then, we’ll see the over artist featured from week to week. For our first week, beginning November 2, it’s Snoop. This does mean we won’t see the original Agency though, unfortunately.

Eminem – Week 2

Fortnite Remix Changes - Eminem

Starting on November 7nd, Eminem comes to the game. He’s taking over the Grotto and featuring a minigun that raps. An interesting addition to Fortnite weapons this season.

Ice Spice – Week 3

Third week is Ice Spice, arriving November 14. She’s taking over the shark with a particularly interesting looking POI.  She’ll be carrying Ice Spice’s Grappler and Rifle. Taking over the Chapter 2 Fortnite characteroriginally featured here.

Week 4

Finally, in Week 4, we’ll get a conclusion to Fortnite Remix. With WRLD Point arriving, a new POI. This week will cross over with JUICE WRLD. They’ll likely make up a good part of the Fortnite live event concluding the season too. This new POI is one of the Fortnite Remix changes we don’ know much about yet.

Fortnite Remix Changes to Gameplay – Vehicles Stick Around

Fortnite Remix Changes - Vehicles

One of the most interesting parts of Fortnite OG was returning to a lower mobility style of play. We’re not quite getting that this time. There’s returning vehicles, but also new ones.

The game will feature Motorboats to begin with, followed by Choppas added later. In addition, there’s Fortnite Remix changes with a new vehicle. The 1966 Cadillac DeVille. A new car vehicle being included. Along with all old prop cars being driveable.

The car will drive like a normal car. But it’ll also be able to jump in the air and bounce around to music. This will likely factor into gameplay in a big way, since cars weren’t included back in Chapter 2 Season 2 originally. One of the Fortnite Remix changes that could upend gameplay.

Weapons – Fortnite Remix Changes

Fortnite Remix Changes - Weapons

Another of the Fortnite Remix changes is the difference in loot pool. We’re getting a batch of weapons which look quite similar to previous Fortnite seasons. However, some key changes have been made. Including some new weapons which will be worked in with the classic selection.

The loot pool will roughly progress how Fortnite Chapter 2’s weapons did. However, we’re getting some new items too, the RG Minigun, and Peow Peow Rifle. The overall balance will likely be different too, since we’re not matching the loot of previous seasons exactly.

It’s still the return of quite a few classic weapons though. Like the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, and more. It’ll be interesting to see how they balance out between new and old.

How Different Will Fortnite Reload be?

Those are the bigger Fortnite Remix changes. However, the game is still recreating the core experience of Chapter 2 in a lot of ways.

While quite a few of the POIs are being changed, it’s a shame their original version won’t be in the game. Although, with new POIs replacing them, it likely won’t make a major difference to if you win Fortnite games or not.

The changes coming with Reload is definitely a weird way to take the throwback season. Hopefully the gameplay changes can introduce some modern touches while still being a nostalgic few round for players.
