The embargo for reviews of new Apple’s iPhone 13 lineup has dropped. While we’re working to get our hands on a review unit, we wanted to share a round-up of hands-on videos and brief reviews from YouTubers and other tech publications who have already gotten their hands on Apple’s new iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Many of these video reviews and hands-on are more general, but they all hit on the camera capabilities of Apple’s latest devices and some, such as Peter McKinnon’s video and Austin Mann’s article, do focus almost exclusively on the camera tech.
The Verge

The Verge has published a 17-minute review of Apple’s co-flagship iPhone (aside from the screen and battery size, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are essentially identical).
Dieter Bohn, Senior Editor at The Verge, succinctly summarizes his thoughts on the new iPhone wihtin the first 30 seconds of the video, saying ‘this a phone for people who care about the details.’ The lengthy review looks nearly every updated detail of the phone and offers a broad overview of what you can expect from the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max regardless of your use-case.

CNET

For its video review, CNET Senior Editor Patrick Holland looks at the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Much like The Verge’s review, this is a more broad overview that covers all of the new features and specifications. Still, it provides another perspective and certainly spends plenty of time showing off the new imaging cpaabilities, complete with plenty of sample photos and video.

Austin Mann

Another Apple release, another in-depth review from Austin Mann. As he’s done time and time again, Mann manages to push the iPhone 13 Pro to its photographic limits and showcase just how well the updated camera specifications perform in real-world use. In addition to the above video, Mann has published an incredibly detailed written review, full of photographs he captured in Tanzania, where his entire review was conducted.
iJustine

While iJustine has shared an unboxing of all the iPhone models, she’s also published a video review of the iPhone 13 Pro, wherein she spends a great deal of time going over all of the new camera features. In addition to looking at the iPhone 13 Pro on its own with all of the new features, she also contextualizes its improvements by comparing its image quality to last year’s iPhone 12 model, which highlights just how much difference sensor-shift image stabilization makes in the video performance of Apple’s new iPhone 13 Pro.
Peter McKinnon

Rather than a single video, Peter McKinnon opted to make two: one specifically for the iPhone 13 Pro Max and one that compares the iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 13 Mini. The decision to break it into two videos is a welcomed one that makes it easy to look at the top-of-the-line model while also contextualizing its performance with Apple’s entry-level model, which holds its own for most of McKinnon’s use-cases.

In fact, as you’ll see in the above video, McKinnon doesn’t shy away from saying he’ll likely be choosing the iPhone 13 Mini as his day-to-day device due to the combination of camera performance and size.
MKBHD

Marques Brownlee hasn’t published a full review of the latest iPhone models, but he has shared an unboxing and impressions video wherein he takes some time playing around with the new camera features aboard the iPhone 13 lineup.
