Well, here we are at last – the InZOI Steam launch is finally upon us, and the would-be rival to The Sims 4 is available to play in full. Given the amount of anticipation, the details about DLC, and the comparisons that have been made to EA’s definitive life game series, InZOI has a lot to live up to, and expectations are high. Nevertheless, based on initial stats, it seems to be doing extremely well. In fact, in the last 24 hours, it’s already outstripped The Sims 4, and earned some super impressive player responses.
Okay. If you’re going to try out the new life game, first up, you’ll want to know how to move, rotate, and scale objects in InZOI (the system can be a little fussy) and also how to solve the already notorious InZOI stuck Zoi problem. With those preparations in hand, we can take a proper look into the InZOI Steam launch, and see that – despite the massive amounts of apprehension and hype – everything seems to be going extremely well.
InZOI Steam reviews, on aggregate, are ‘very positive’ right now – of the 2,336 posted so far, 86% are positive. That doesn’t really compare to simulation game peer The Sims 4: released onto Steam more than a decade ago, EA’s monolithic game has an 87% percent positive rating based on more than 185,000 responses.
However, InZOI can already boast a notable achievement after its first day. In the last 24 hours, The Sims 4 has attracted – at its peak – 38,111 concurrent players. InZOI has pulled in 65,235. Of course, InZOI has the benefit of being a new game with a lot of curiosity surrounding it, and it’s bound to get a big player spike in its initial weeks. But even though we haven’t hit the weekend yet, when a lot of people might take advantage of their time off to play InZOI for the first time, that 65,235 puts InZOI within reach of The Sims 4’s all-time record of 96,328.
So, reviews are good, the player count is high (and higher than The Sims 4, at least during the past day), and things generally seem to be going well. InZOI’s director and co-creator tells PCGamesN exclusively how the game will handle families and babies, two of the trickier-to-perfect aspects of life games, and also explains how InZOI does (and does not) intend to compete with The Sims.
