The Inkulinati team has confirmed that its upcoming turn-based strategy game, in which you wage wars over the pages of medieval manuscripts, will join Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one.Inkulinati has no intention of taking itself too seriously, and sees you fighting to become an Inkulinati Master, using Living Ink to build a bestiary made up of everything from man-eating snails to sword-wielding rabbits. We still don’t have a specific release date for Inkulinati, but we do know it’s coming for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one!Inkulinati joins Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass at launchThe devs shared the news over on Twitter. Inkulinati promises to be full of humour, and is inspired by marginalia; the bizarre images on medieval manuscripts. We’re aiming to become an Inkulinati Master, and will fight against other Inkulinati and Wild Beasts using the Living Ink to build ourselves a bestiary. Along with the enemies we’ll face — which apparently includes Death — we’ll also need to keep an eye out for The Apocalypse; an event which will shake up the battlefield and change the course of the fight, such as a steadily-growing fire which roars at the edges of the manuscript and causes the battlefield to shrink. If this looks like your kind of thing and you’d like to know more, check out our full Inkulinati interview where we spoke to developer Yaza Games’ art director Dorota Halicka and asked all our Inkulinati questions. We don’t yet have a release date for the game, but in the meantime — if you’re looking for something with a similar silliness, why not check out The Procession to Calvary, which also just so happens to be on Xbox Game Pass. If it’s more medieval shenanigans you’re after, keep an eye out for Pentiment, which launches into Xbox Game Pass this autumn. What do you think of Inkulinati? Let us know in the comments!
