Nine participants awaken in a facility, imprisoned with a strange black bracelet on their wrists. The exit of the facility is a massive iron door. A masked figure appears and announces the start of the game. To escape, they must play a game with deadly consequences.
Written and directed by Kotaro Uchikoshi and designed by Akira Okada, Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma is a visceral experience that will make you question your morality through a series of life-or-death decisions where even the best option carries horrifying implications. If you’re a fan of escape rooms, the elaborate puzzle-solving and escape game challenges takes the “escape room” experience to a new level.
You’ll need to explore your surroundings for clues to solve mind-bending puzzles and escape your prison. It may sound like a classic escape game, where you work together with your fellow captives, however, this is anything but a team-building exercise. This is a ruthless death game where at least six people must die in order to escape. Who will live, and who will die? The choice is yours.
It’s an extreme situation, trapped in a cold, inorganic space with no one but your fellow captives. This game depicts the anxiety of death being moments away, and the dark side of humanity when everyone feels no one can be trusted, but it pulls you in and doesn’t let go. The decisions you make will significantly affect the fate of the game’s characters, and ultimately the survival of the human race.
As a follow-up to Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and Virtue’s Last Reward, Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma is the final installment that wraps up the loose ends of the Zero Escape series. With clear explanations of previous titles, even new players will be able to follow the narrative.
But if you haven’t played either Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, have no fear. The Zero Escape: The Nonary Games bundle is available now with Game Pass, and includes both Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward.
