The International Esports Federation (IESF) has elected new board and committee members during its 16th Ordinary General Meeting (OGM).
The meeting took place on November 16th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and featured 150 delegates from the IESF’s member federations.

The meeting was opened by Saudi Esports Federation’s chairman Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, who was appointed as the federation’s Active President last year. During the first session, participants voted on the acceptance or rejection of motions submitted by members. Moreover, Canada, Germany, Latvia and Malta have received Full Membership status.
The second session was dedicated to electing the following key positions within the IESF Board and committees:
- Board Member: Mr Samart Benjamin Assarasakorn
- Treasurer: Mr Daniel Wen Jun Loy
- Membership Committee Members: Mr Soufiane El Filali and Mr Jaroslav Melishek
- Audit, Risk and Governance Commiittee: Mr Tomas Gabris (Chair), Mr Jacopo Ierussi and Mr Stevan Nenad Rosic
- Regulatory Committee Chair: Mr Ido Orel Brosh
In his OGM concluding statement, IESF General Secretary Borban Totovski shared: “This year’s assembly demonstrated the strength of our community and the shared vision that drives IESF forward. I thank everyone for their contributions to a democratic and smooth process, and I look forward to welcoming more member federations to our family next year and even greater success.”
The general meeting coincided with the World Esports Championship 2024 (WEC24), a multi-discipline esports tournament organised by the IESF. Its 16th edition kicked off on November 11th at the SEF Arena in Riyadh, featuring events in PUBG Mobile, Counter-Strike 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Dota 2. Indonesia was crowned the overall WEC24 Champions.
Esports governance body IESF was founded in 2008 and has since brought together 144 Member Federations across six continents. The federation aims to create a united esports ecosystem as well as support sustainable and responsible development. This year, IESF established the Esports Leadership Group (ELG) with fellow esports governance body, the Global Esports Federation (GEF), to facilitate collaboration between the organisations.
The host city bidding process for the World Esports Championship’s 2025 and 2025 iterations was initiated in July this year.
