After an initial unveiling at CES 2024 last January, Hyperkin has finally announced pricing and a release date for DuchesS, its officially licensed replicate controller inspired by the original Xbox Controller S. Hyperkin notes that the DuchesS will be released on August 21 for $49.99. This is the third collaboration Hyperkin has done with Microsoft to make officially licensed controllers for modern platforms, as the gaming peripheral company previously made replicas of the original Xbox Duke controller and the Xbox 360 controller. Hyperkin DuchesS: New Product ImagesThe Hperkin DuchesS, as the name and imagery imply, looks a lot like the Xbox Controller S, but with some modern features such as Hall Effect thumbsticks, modern ergonomics, precision impulse triggers, and a Share Button. Unfortunately, despite what was previously stated by the company, Hyperkin revealed that the Duchess would not include Hall Effect triggers, citing “form factor constraints” as the reason for including drift-free triggers. “With the launch of DuchesS, you’ll be able to use a version of every generation of Xbox controller ever created on a modern console with the trio of Hyperkin official replicas,” Hyperkin’s lead developer and licensing director Slade Dude Suzuki said. “That itself is a pretty cool feat!”Hyperkin DuchesS will be compatible with the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Pre-ordering is slated to begin on July 15, with HyperKin’s official website and Amazon confirming that the two retailers’ customers can purchase the gamepad.Taylor is a Reporter at IGN.
