The League of Legends Pro League (LPL), Riot Games’s tier-one esports competition in China, has named performance technology company Hyperice as its official recovery technology partner for 2021.
As a part of the deal, Hyperice will provide all 17 participating LPL teams with access to its recovery technologies in its facilities, during training in separate team bases and onsite during match play.

According to the release, the partnerships includes LPL athletes, trainers, and all other team members.
Moreover, Hyperice will design a custom ‘Recovery Room’ in LPL’s Shanghai HongQiao Hub venue. The room will comprise of the company’s latest recovery technology product lines, including the Hypervolt, Hyperflux, Hypersphere, and Venom.

By bringing Hyperice’s revolutionary recovery technology into LPL play, we expect this partnership to spread more broadly into athlete recovery than traditional sports.
“By focusing on player health our goal is to extend their professional careers and help to bring their gameplay to the next level.”
To support player health and mobility, Hyperice will also partner with LPL teams and its esports athletes to design professional physical training and recovery programmes. In addition, Hyperice will look to educate team officials on the innovations in recovery tech and wellness solutions.
In return, Hyperice will have a presence in the media room during LPL press conferences and in team locker rooms on game days. The firm’s products will be available for consumers through branded booths within the LPL venue.

Esports Insider says: Physical well-being is an important factor in any performance, esports included. Health as a topic has been somewhat neglected in esports until recently, so it’s good to see Riot, one of the biggest names in the industry, providing the latest recovery technologies to the teams participating in its league.
