The annual Boston Marathon will take place on Monday morning, and the Boston Red Sox will be playing a baseball game too!
The Boston Marathon does not typically take place in the fall, but if the past year-plus has shown us anything, it is that schedules can and will change. So, instead of third Monday of April, the 2021 edition of the Boston Marathon will take place on Monday, Oct. 11.
There was no 2020 edition of the marathon due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2021 Boston Marathon was later moved from the traditional April date until later in the fall, again due to the ongoing pandemic.
Typically, there is a Boston Red Sox game that takes place on the same day as the marathon. Even with the postponed date, there will be baseball in Boston, as the Red Sox have the chance to clinch a spot in the ALCS with a Game 4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
