The introduction to the farming tutorial in Rune Factory 5 starts off with having you clear debris from the field. You simply need to pick up all of the sticks and weeds. The rocks and tree stumps are beyond your capabilities at the moment so for now, just focus on getting rid of all the twigs and the weeds. You’re then given a Cheap Hoe and asked to till the fields. To do this, you first need to equip the hoe.
How To Use & Equip The Hoe In Rune Factory 5
When you are running around in the field, press the L button. This will bring up the equipment wheel. There are three categories from here, Weapons, Farm Tool, and Other. With the L menu open, navigate using up and down on the d-pad until you reach the Farm Tools section. Then press Right on the d-pad and select the Cheap Hoe with Y. You can then equip or unequip the Cheap Hoe using L on the d-pad.
- When you are running around in the field press the L button to open the equipment menu
- Press up or down on the d-pad until you reach the Farm Tools section of the menus
- Select the Cheap Hoe and press Y to equip the Cheap Hoe
- In the field you can use left or right (depending on where it is assigned) to equip the Cheap Hoe. Then simply attack with B to till the land
