Wondering how to use fast travel in Runescape Dragonwilds? While it’s sometimes relaxing to take a stroll around Bramblemead, there are many dangerous enemies and events that make travelling a nightmare. You never know when you’re going to become hunted by a group of goblins, or when a dragon will decide to attack the area you’re in.
By utilizing the fast travel system in Runescape Dragonwilds, you can avoid all this hassle by instantly jumping across the map. You do have to do some legwork to get your lodestones up and running in the co-op game, but once you’ve got a good set of armor and weapons, you should have no problems acquiring the necessary items.
How to craft a lodestone in Runescape Dragonwilds
When you spawn into the building game for the first time, you may not realize that you’re only meters away from a lodestone. Lodestones are special items that allow you to fast travel from anywhere on the map, but there are some requirements that you must meet before you gain access to this powerful ability.
For starters, you’re going to need to get your hands on a vault core, an energy source used by the dragonkin. Due to the power of this item, they’re exclusively located inside dragonkin vaults, so you should have, at the bare minimum, access to the Enchant Weapon: Fire spell, and some armor for protection. You can find dragonkin vaults by heading to the blue flags highlighted on the Runescape Dragonwilds map.
Here’s what you need to craft a lodestone in Runescape Dragonwilds:
- 32x Stone
- 20x Rune Essence
- 1x Vault Core
Vault cores require you to pick them up from a stand, making it technically possible to run through a dragonkin vault without fighting any enemies.
With that said, we highly recommend fighting the vault guardian sentinels and overlords as they drop rune essence, which you’ll also need. Lodestones can be crafted using the building menu, meaning you can place them at practically any location on the map, as you don’t need to head to a crafting table first.
Once you have the items you need to craft a lodestone, the next thing to consider is where you want to place it. Due to the rarity of vault cores, you shouldn’t take this decision lightly, as you likely won’t be able to create many lodestones during the early game.
For this reason, it’s not a bad idea to keep a base located in the area you first spawn in, as there’s already an unmovable lodestone in this location. We recommend placing lodestones in areas that you will need to return to often. Once you’re done, you can remove the lodestone to reclaim all your resources.
It’s also worth pointing out that fast travelling using lodestones isn’t free. You need to have 10x Law Runes in your inventory before you can travel from each lodestone on the map. Be sure to craft some at a rune altar before heading out on an adventure, as there’s nothing worse than coming back from a dungeon run only to discover that you need to trek all the way back home.
