Yura, Hunter of Bloody Fingers is an NPC in Elden Ring who you’ll meet pretty early on, and whose story can span a significant part of the journey across the map.
Our Elden Ring Yura questline guide will walk you through all steps of Yura’s story — including where to find him in Limgrave, Liurnia of the Lakes, and the Altus Plateau — and how to collect his gear: the Nagakiba katana and the Ronin’s Set armor.
Where to start the Yura questline in Elden Ring
There are two places where you can first meet Bloody Finger Hunter Yura. Depending on your progress, you might find him in both places.
The first is in Limgrave south of the Dragon-Burnt Ruins and west of the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace. Look for the large arch of a ruined wall, and you’ll find Yura at a campfire underneath. He’s there to warn you about the dragon in Agheel Lake. Once you defeat the dragon, head back to the ruin and he’ll tell you about the Church of Dragon Communion. Speaking to him here (and killing Flying Dragon Agheel) is optional.
The second location you’ll find him is along the river leading to Murkwater Cave on the north side of Agheel Lake. Bloody Finger Hunger Yura will (eventually) join the fight when you’re invaded by Bloody Finger Nerijus. Once Nerijus is defeated, Yura will move to an rock overhang a bit farther north along the river.
How to complete the Yura questline in Elden Ring
If you complete Murkwater Cave before killing the dragon, you’ll still find him in the ruins at the south end of the lake. So long as you’ve spoken to him near Murkwater, he’ll move to his next location in Liurnia.
Academy of Raya Lucaria in Liurnia of the Lakes
The next place you’ll meet Yura is near the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Once you reach the Main Academy Gate site of grace, turn around and follow the bridge northeast. Don’t interact with the the floating seal there. Instead, just walk past it.
Not too far down — just before the first break in the bridge — you’ll find a red summon sign from Yura on the ground. Interact with it to be transported into a battle against Bloody Finger Ravenmount Assassin.
Helping Yura defeat this Bloody Finger will earn you a Rune Arc, a Furlcalling Finger Remedy, and the Ash of War: Raptor of the Mists. When you return to your own world, Yura will be standing just to the north. Speak with him to get some more backstory and a Smithing Stone (5).
Second Church of Marika in Altus Plateau
After you’re done with Yura at Raya Lucaria, he’ll head into the Altus Plateau. You’ll need to find both halves of the Dectus Medallion — one half is in southeast Limgrave at Fort Haight and the other is in Dragonbarrow at Fort Farroth — to ride the Grand Lift of Dectus.
A bit to the north of the Grand Lift, you’ll find the Second Church of Marika. It’s not along the road, so it’s a bit of a hike to find it. The closest Sites of Grace are the Altus Highway Junction and the Forest-Spanning Greatbridge.
When you arrive, speak with Yura (he’s not doing great) to receive his Nagakiba katana. At that point, you’ll be invaded by Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger. Defeat her to get the Purifying Crystal Tear and Eleonora’s Poleblade.
That completes Yura’s questline… but not quite. Well, technically. Kinda.
Zamor Ruins in Mountaintops of the Giants
After you complete your journey through Leyndell, Royal Capital and defeat Morgott, The Omen King, you’ll pick up the Rold Medallion and open the path to the Grand Lift of Rold in the Forbidden Lands.
On the other side of the lift, the first Site of Grace you’ll come to is at the Zamor Ruins. Rest there, and you’ll find Yura standing just to the east. Only it’s not actually Yura anymore — his body has been taken over by Shabriri.
Shabriri’s (separate) quest involves decisions that affect your ending for Elden Ring, though you can undo this particular choice with a bit of work. Shabriri needs you to meet with the Three Fingers beneath the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds in Leyndell, Royal Capital.
Once you do, return to the Zamor Ruins to find Yura’s Ronin’s Set armor.
