How to Catch Meg’s Fang in Fisch
Yep, you can fish up Megalodon bones in Fisch now! While it fills an entry in the Ancient Isles Bestiary, you also need this item in the crafting recipe for the Rod of the Forgotten Fang. It’s currently the fishing rod with the highest requirement level in the game, and it comes with a useful (and cool) passive ability.
To get Meg’s Fang for yourself, you need to fish anywhere across the Ancient Isles. This can be in the main pond area, the ocean waters surrounding the island, or in the pond by the waterfall. Annoyingly, it has no preferences, so there’s no way for you to hone in on specifics when trying to increase your chances of obtainment.
However, utilising bait or a fishing rod that has a high luck stat can work. For the bait, focus on using those that have a Universal Luck boost rather than a Preferred Luck boost. As mentioned above, Meg’s Fang has no preferences at all, and this includes the bait type too.
Meg Fang Uses
While you can sell it for a minimum of 750 coins at its lowest kg, it’s best to keep them around so you can craft the Rod of the Forgotten Fang. You need a total of 2 Meg Fangs for this rod, and with the Fang being of the Mythical rarity, they’re not overly common.
Rod of the Forgotten Fang
To craft the Rod of the Forgotten Fang, you need 2 Meg Fangs, 1 Lunar Thread, and 2 Meg Spines. The Megalodon Spines are caught the same way as Meg Fangs, with no preferences. To learn how to unlock the ability to craft, read our Fisch Crafting guide.
The main appeal of this rod is its passive ability. After performing 5 Perfect Catches, you summon a Megalodon that launches itself out of the water. It then gives you an extra fish that’s of a higher rarity. On top of that, this additional fish is 15% to 20% larger, meaning you can sell it for even more!
Without Enchants, the Luck boost of the rod at its base is 125%, with a Lure Speed of 45%. This makes it an extremely fast fishing rod with a high chance of catching rare fish more often.
