How Many Bonds Do You Get For Beating Dead Rails?
Preamble over, let’s get to the info.
Completion Bond Reward
You get 10 Bonds for beating a run of Dead Rails in Normal Mode. You can double this to 20 Bonds by completing it in Nightmare Mode, but as the name might suggest, this is a bit more challenging.
Bonds are rewarded automatically on your return to the lobby, just in time for you to spend them on classes, or gear for the next run.
Other Sources Of Bonds
You can max out your bond payouts in a run by seeking out other good sources of this currency while you’re on the road. We’ll run over the good sources, starting with some of the easiest.
Town Of Sterling
The Town Of Sterling typically spawns once per run, up against a large rock formation, and further off the track than normal towns. You can find around 6 Bonds in the buildings there, and crucially, there are no enemies in the town itself by default. So, if you arrive during the day, it’s pretty much free Bonds.
Banks
A bank is found in more or less every town along the route. You find Bonds inside the vault, and to get into the vault you need to get a code. You can find the code by taking out a top hat-wearing zombie near the building. Input the code he was carrying into the vault door, and hey presto.
Challenges
Make sure to check the challenge board! Challenges reward Bonds, though some of the higher-paying Challenges require big and often tricky changes to how you play. Try to maintain a balance between completing challenges and not making choices that will get you killed.
Other Structures
You can find Bonds in The Castle and the locked storage area of Fort Constitution. This can be quite a tough fight, so don’t go unprepared expecting easy money.
