It looks like Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered‘s official announcement and release date aren’t too far away. The rumored remaster was first outed in 2022 when some outlets got a hold of an internal Sony document, but we haven’t really heard anything since… until today, that is. The unannounced title has just been rated by the ESRB.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered PS5 and PC release date announcement possibly coming at State of Play
The ESRB rating (thanks, Reddit) mentions PS5 and PC as the remaster’s platforms. It looks like Sony will be opting for a simultaneous release à la Until Dawn remake. Previous reports claimed that HZD Remastered will feature an improved lighting system, texture overhaul, improved animations, and new character models.
According to MP1st, who first leaked the remaster, the game will also feature new accessibility options, different graphics modes, and VRR support.
As for when the announcement will be made, considering that HZD Remastered has just been rated by the ESRB, we’re guessing that an announcement is coming at the rumored PlayStation State of Play, which is supposedly within the next week or so. Whether the game will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro or not remains to be seen.
