Not even a year after the launch of MiYoYo’s record-breaking mobile game Honkai Star Rail shot into our hearts, its first major patch arrives. The update to 2.0 wraps up almost a year’s worth of patch content which saw get started on your star-trotting adventure.
Now 2.0 is about to land, titled “If One Dreams At Midnight” and will kick off a whole era of Honkai Star Rail. We got all the info here in a neatly summarized package.
Honkai Star Rail 2.0 Release Date
The new HSR update is scheduled to be released on February 6, 2024. This will be the introduction to the story that will span throughout 2.0 – 2.3. The first 3 patches will tell the story of Penacony while 2.3 will serve as an epilogue.-
Honkai Star Rail Penacony
The new world players will get to visit is the Penacony. Once, a long time ago, a prison that the IPC used to keep prisoners out of sight is now a bustling luxury retreat, serving the galaxies rich and famous. The crew of the Astral Express will visit the Penacony on behalf of the Family, who is responsible for this prison-turned-hotel.
Here the Trailblazers will learn about the Dreamnpool which allows them to travel to one of 12 Dreamscapes, one of which is the Golden Hour a city of pleasure and vice. Here they’ll also come across the Dream’s eyes and will have to solve its mystery to get ahead.
Honkai Star Rail 2.0 Characters
2.0 will as always launch with 3 new characters, all of them tied to the new zone in mysterious ways. The first one of which is Black Sawn, a Wind Element 5-Star Character that’ll be featured on the first banner. She deals extraordinary DoT damage and will make a fine addition to any team in need of some extra DMG.
Next is the VIP of Masked Fools Miss Sparkle who will join the roster ahead of the launch of 2.0. She’s a 5-star support character of the Quantum element. Her skill Dreamdiver increases CRIT DMG and advances another character’s actions while her Ultimate recovers Skill points and buffs her skill even further.
Last is Misha, a 4-star character following the Path of Destruction with the Ice Element. He’ll make for a great damage dealer for anyone looking for some extra damage. We don’t know if he’s going to be part of the Black Swans or Miss Sparkles banner so stay tuned.
Hokai Star Rail 2.0 Banners
2.0 will feature 2 banners. The first of which will feature the Illustrious Black Swan alongside her Light Cone and will launch on February 7, 2024.
The second banner will feature Miss Sparkle herself with her Light Cone event and will launch on February 28, 2024.
Honkai Star Rail 2.0 Events
There’ll be several events as part of the 2.0 patch cycle which is expected to last for 6 or so weeks. Gift of Odyssey will make a return, letting players earn 10 Star Rail Special Passes by logging in and Gift of Stellarium will give you an extra 10 Star Rail Special Passes for logging in during the Events runtime.
Hanu’s Prison Break
Players will join up with the new character Hanu and complete various challenges in the Penacony Dreamscape to earn Stellar Jades, Upgrade Materials, and Self-modelling rasin. Once completed, players will get to choose between Sampo, Guinaifen, Yukong, and Asta.

Here Trailblazers will have to solve the mystery and challenges from a mysterious tabloid that finds its way into their hands.

The Penacony’s Television signal is in trouble! The Trailblazer needs to recover the signal and fight through various challenges for their rewards.
Penacony Food Fest
Invited to the Clock Diner in Penacony, the Trailblazers will live out their inner chef fantasies and source raw ingredients from all over the galaxy for rewards.
