Following the release of Update 1.2, Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Publishing announced that all of Homeworld 3’s all paid DLC and free content drops from the content roadmap will now be delivered at once this November.
As part of this release, the two content packs originally scheduled for 2025 will now be released in 2024. This has been done to help deliver the most complete Homeworld 3 experience; bringing many community requested changes to players sooner than originally expected.
The following features will make their way to Homeworld 3 in the upcoming DLC:
- New Skirmish Mode Features – Based on community feedback, the team has implemented requested changes to Skirmish mode. These include tweaks to resourcing and adjustments to researching. Hyperspace Jumping will also be added, which allows players to surprise their enemies with a rapid assault or escape if their mothership becomes surrounded.
- New Free Artifacts and Challenges – The team will add over 40 Artifacts and none challenges – all for free – to help shake up War Games for all. This includes the introduction of a new ‘Ultimate’ class of Artifacts that becomes available after collecting an Artifact Pattern, and one of each of the upgrade Artifacts.
- New War Games Factions – Two new factions – Taiidan and Somtaaw – will enter the fray for the War Games mode with the paid DLC packs. These franchise favorites will help to introduce new ships and strategies ripe for exploration. Each new War Games faction comes with two unique fleets, new ships, dozens of new artifacts, and ten new challenges.
