E3 might be cancelled this year, but that hasn’t stopped publishers from coming out in force to fill the void with shows of their own. From first-party Xbox titles to killer new indies galore, here’s everything coming next week.June 6thLRG3 (Limited Run Games showcase)Time: 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CETWhere to watch: TwitchKicking things off on Monday, we have Limited Run’s third summer gaming showcase, with the official site promising “over 30 awesome game trailers and physical release reveals.” Based on prior form, we wouldn’t expect much in terms of Xbox news or physical special editions, though — Limited Run managed to announce 30 new products at their show last year and somehow, there wasn’t a single Xbox title among them. Fingers crossed that improves this year, but either way, more physical games is never a bad thing.June 9thSummer Game Fest LiveTime: 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST / 8pm CETWhere to watch: YouTube / TwitchThe Geoff Keighley Show is back this year and aside from Microsoft’s showcase in its usual Sunday evening slot, Summer Game Fest Live will likely be the best place to see some big new games. And Geoff. Lots of Geoff. Last year’s show gave us some major reveals like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Jurassic World Evolution 2, first gameplay and a release date for Elden Ring, and a bunch of downloadable game demos to let fans try out some of the smaller games for themselves. While the demo collection hasn’t been announced to be coming back this year, we have picked up a few demos on the store with release dates on or around the date of the show, so it’s certainly possible. June 10thNetflix Geeked Week: GamingTime: 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 7pm CETWhere to watch: YouTubeNetflix is running themed shows every day next week, with Friday’s being focused exclusively on gaming stuff. The schedule says we’ll be seeing the likes of the new Cuphead, Sonic, and Tekken shows among others, plus some Netflix games and likely a few new announcements of either games or shows based on them. Tribeca Games SpotlightTime: 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST / 9pm CETWhere to watch: YouTubeA curated showcase of some prime indie titles, with behind-the-scenes deep dives into all nine of the announced games. This year’s lineup looks great, with A Plague Tale: Requiem the headline act and the long-awaited Cuphead DLC also on the list, along with some interesting indies like The Cub and interactive drama As Dusk Falls. With E3 season typically firing off blink-and-you’ll-miss-it trailers and announcements at an absurd rate, the more relaxed and in-depth nature of the Tribeca showcase always makes for a welcome change of pace, and it’s also a great place to discover new games to look forward to.June 11thGuerrilla Collective ShowcaseTime: 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST / 5pm CETWhere to watch: YouTube / TwitchIf indie games are your jam, you’re not going to want to miss this one. The lineup for the show is mostly already on the Guerrilla Collective site already and there are some fantastic titles among them — stuff like The Last Worker, Time on Frog Island, WrestleQuest, and Rain World: Downpour — plus they will be joined by new announcements on the day as well. The sheer volume of games at this event means it tends to move pretty fast, but it’s always an interesting watch.Wholesome DirectTime: 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET / 5:30pm BST / 6:30pm CETWhere to watch: YouTubeFans of comfy and colourful wholesome games will definitely want to tune in for this. We already know about a few games we’ll see here, with the teaser showing glimpses of the likes of Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley and Ooblets — the latter has already confirmed a summer launch window, so we’re hoping for a release date or even a shadow drop so we can start grabbing those Ooblets achievements when they are added in version 1.0 of the adorable Pokémon-alike.Future Of Play DirectTime: 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET / 6:30pm BST / 7:30pm CETWhere to watch: YouTubeExpect even more indie love here, with games like The Wandering Village and Cook Serve Forever showing up alongside updates for recent releases such as Boyfriend Dungeon and Soundfall. Musical interludes are often hit-and-miss at events like this but after Darren Korb’s stunning Hades mini-set at SGF last year and Mick Gordon rocking the Doom soundtrack at The Game Awards a few years back, we’re hyped to see the amazing Alex Moukala smash out some tunes from games like Celeste, Hollow Knight, and Tunic.Future Games ShowTime: 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST / 9pm CETWhere to watch: YouTube / TwitchGamesRadar’s own gaming show has been attracting more and more big names over the years, with the 2022 showcase set to include around 40 games and be hosted by Denise Gough and Doug Cockle (Yennefer and Geralt from The Witcher 3). The site doesn’t confirm any titles that we’ll see, but it does tease that “it’s worth thinking about 2015’s major releases for clues,” whatever that might mean. The logical connection there is between the event’s hosts and 2015 being the year The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released, but we’ll just have to wait and see… June 12thXbox & Bethesda ShowcaseTime: 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 7pm CETWhere to watch: YouTube / TwitchThis is the big one, with a lot of eyes on the House of Xbox hoping to see what the future of the platform looks like now that Starfield and Redfall have slipped to next year. Still, both games are still likely to show up here as the two of them feature in the Summer Game Fest teaser video (the MS showcase falls under the SGF umbrella). What else? Who knows! Surely it’s high time we saw something on the next Forza Motorsport? What Game Pass surprises might Microsoft have in store for us? We’ll find out on Sunday. Bring it on!PC Gaming ShowTime: 12:30pm PT / 3:30pm ET / 8:30pm BST / 9:30pm CETWhere to watch: YouTubeWhile it’s unlikely we’ll see much in the way of Xbox stuff at PC Gamer’s show, there are sure to be a few bits and pieces that will also come to console so it could be worth keeping an eye on, plus of course many folks round here also play on PC so there’ll be plenty here for them. The site says there will be more than 45 games featured, name-dropping the likes of Arma and Space Marine 2 and mentioning reveals from Klei Entertainment (Don’t Starve, Mark of the Ninja) and 11 Bit Studios (This War of Mine, Frostpunk).Which of these are you most looking forward to checking out, and what are you most hoping to see? Let us know!
