Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op beta still hasn’t kicked off as developer 343 Industries is currently unable to get the mode working. In a series of tweets (below) spotted by PC Gamer, 343’s community director Brian Jarrard said the team is “still targeting this week but it’s day by day as work continues”. Despite announcing it would begin the week of July 11, “the team is still working on our upcoming Halo Infinite network co-op insider flight build,” Jarrard said, with “flight” essentially meaning “beta”.He continued: “Flighting is fluid as the process entails discovering issues in initial rings and resolving them before expanding to a larger audience. A few issues were discovered in our current flight ring and the team is working to address.”Apologies to folks who expected the flight today – we’re eager to get this into your hands but we also want to ensure it’s a positive and worthwhile flight experience. Still targeting this week but it’s day by day as work continues. Ty for your patience and understanding. (3/3)— Brian Jarrard (@ske7ch) July 11, 2022 The term “rings” is further 343 jargon essentially meaning development milestones. Translated, Jarrard is basically saying the team is working through issues found in smaller tests and it will only release the proper beta once these are fixed.”Apologies to folks who expected the flight today – we’re eager to get this into your hands but we also want to ensure it’s a positive and worthwhile flight experience,” he added.Fans have been eager to play Halo Infinite’s campaign in co-op for quite some time after it was delayed from the game’s initial release date in December last year. 343 later announced another delay to the mode, saying it wouldn’t arrive until May 2022 at the earliest, and only in June confirmed a beta would begin in July. The game hasn’t had the smoothest post-launch period and even 343 admitted its multiplayer mode is lacking content, and while the Season 2 update was meant to address concerns, it too had a bumpy launch.Every IGN Halo ReviewRyan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer who occasionally remembers to tweet @thelastdinsdale.
