Halo Infinite’s first multiplayer technical test (or beta to the rest of the world) could begin this weekend, according to 343 Industries, and will feature a Slayer playlist against bots and scored weapon drill challenges. In the latest Inside Infinite blog post, the developer spoke more on its upcoming plans for Infinite’s multiplayer technical previews and what Halo Insiders can expect from the game’s first beta test. The upcoming technical preview will feature a multiplayer Bot Arena playlist, which pits four players against four bots on Arena maps. Insiders will be able to play Slayer across the Bazaar, Recharge, and Live Fire maps in the preview. “To keep players on their toes and keep the experience engaging, we’re planning for a daily content offering that will evolve over the course of the flight based on the overall engagement of participants,” 343 Industries said. “We’re going to intentionally start things off slow to help everyone get acclimated, but as the community gets up to speed and slays copious amount of bots our goal is to crank things up to provide greater challenge and variety.”Also in the preview, you’ll be able to check out Halo Infinite’s weapons in Weapon Drills, which gives you the chance to test out Halo Infinite’s weapons on a scored firing range against moving bots. Alongside these, 343 Industries will be asking for feedback on Halo Infinite’s menu navigation and UI. There will be a mini version of the Battle Pass for you to work your way through, and select Insiders will receive in-game credits to test unlocking customisation items (which won’t carry over to the full version of the game). The developer hasn’t given a firm date as to when this technical test will take place but has hinted that it “could happen as soon as next weekend” (which now means this weekend). Prior to the beta going live, 343 Industries will be holding a live stream where it will cover “every facet of the technical preview,” so keep an eye out for that. 343 Industries also stresses that the technical preview is a work-in-progress build and is also a “couple months behind where the development team and ‘main’ game build currently is.”To be in with a chance of getting hands-on with Halo Infinite’s first technical preview, you’ll need to sign up to the Halo Insider programme and opt-in for flighting.
