Speaking during its Q1 earnings call overnight, publisher Take-Two revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has now shipped an earth-shattering 150 million copies worldwide since its launch in September 2013.It’s worth pointing out that GTA V had shipped 145 million units in May 2021, so that’s pretty impressive to see it’s moved another five million units in just a few months. The crime juggernaut stands as the best-selling game of the decade in North America, and according to Take-Two, reached $1 billion in retail sales faster than any entertainment release in history.GTA V was originally released for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and was later spruced up for a PS4, PC, and Xbox One launch in 2014. Take-Two isn’t stopping there, though; the game will be hitting PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 11, 2021.Meanwhile, GTA Online, the game’s multiplayer companion, continues to pull in major revenue for the publishing giant, so naturally that’s also making the transition to new consoles later this year.Related Content – Sony PS5 Complete Guide – A Total Resource On PlayStation 5Rockstar Games is heavily rumoured to be chiselling away on Grand Theft Auto 6, with recent chatter pointing to a Vice City setting.
