Dataminers have reportedly found references to the rumoured GTA trilogy remaster in a Rockstar Launcher update and also claim to have found updated achievement art for the trilogy. First spotted by GTANet and reported by VGC, images were uploaded to GTAForums that seemingly reference Unreal Engine versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. A previous report from Kotaku suggested that the rumoured remasters have been developed using Unreal Engine. Icons for each game with gold outlines were reportedly discovered as well as achievement art. When comparing the San Andreas achievement images uploaded to GTAForums with the San Andreas trophy art over on TrueTrophies, we count 48 achievement icons compared to 33 trophies (the same number of achievements in the 360 release), with some being the same and others different. If this leak is real, this means we could be getting some updated achievements. This applies to both GTA III and Vice City. Of course, it’s worth taking these leaks with a pinch of salt until Rockstar itself announces the trilogy, but evidence of the remasters does seem to be mounting. Last month, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was rated by South Korea’s Game Management Committee and then swiftly removed from the website after it was discovered. Rumours about a possible GTA remastered trilogy have been swirling for months after Kotaku reported that the remastered collection was in development at Rockstar and is set for a November release. Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
