Despite launching in a near-unplayable state in some instances and receiving plenty of criticism from players, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition looks to have sold well, with Take-Two citing it as a major contributor to the company’s Q3 2022 revenues.During an investor call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the remastered trilogy had “significantly exceed[ed] our commercial expectations.” No sales figures were given, so it’s hard to say just how well exactly GTA: The Trilogy has done commercially, but VGC estimates that Take-Two has shipped around 10 million copies of the remastered collection since its launch in November. Despite the trilogy’s apparent sales success, Zelnick did address the remastered trilogy’s shortcomings and issues that so many players came across at launch. “Very occasionally, we fall short,” Zelnick said. “I think The Trilogy was an example of that. And the title was launched with some issues. We’ve addressed many of them. There are more fixes to come. Going forward, we remain highly focused on quality, and we are exceedingly confident in all of our upcoming releases.” He later added that Take-Two wouldn’t be changing how it handles the development of its games going forward. “We’ve had precious few quality lapses at this company. So any time that we’ve fallen short from a quality point of view, it has been an isolated case, and we aim to keep it that way. However, we’re not changing our business model.”Rockstar recently announced that the Xbox Series X|S version of Grand Theft Auto V would launch on March 15th, bringing with it a host of visual and performance upgrades. The developer also confirmed it’s working on the next instalment of the Grand Theft Auto seriesDid you pick up Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition at launch?
