WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar has said that both Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights will release in 2022. Kilar took to Twitter to provide a recap of the company’s Q4 2021 financial results, writing that WarnerMedia will operate upon its mission statement and strategies “with a sense of urgency” in 2022, which includes “delivering a full state of highly anticipated games.” His tweet contained screenshots of both Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights.Rumors of Hogwarts Legacy delay have been recirculatingFirst delayed exactly a year ago, rumors of Hogwarts Legacy running into development troubles and potentially being delayed again have been recirculating in recent weeks. However, Avalanche Software and WarnerMedia have both been keen to shed those rumors. Former PlayStation LifeStyle editor-in-chief and current Avalanche community manager Chandler Wood recently tweeted “2022” in response to rumors of a delay, and this latest confirmation comes straight from WarnerMedia’s CEO so it doesn’t get more official than that.As far as Gotham Knights is concerned, we haven’t seen much of the title beyond its appearance at DC FanDome in 2021. Gotham Knights was also previously delayed to 2022 to give the development team more time. “We are giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players,” WB Games said in March 2021. “Thank you to our amazing fans for your tremendous support of Gotham Knights.”This mission, this strategy continues in ‘22 with a sense of urgency: launching HBO Max in many more countries this quarter and the balance of the year, launching CNN+, delivering of a full slate of highly anticipated games. 10/x pic.twitter.com/CY5jYAhxU5— Jason Kilar (@jasonkilar) January 26, 2022Opinion: With Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights, 2022 is absolutely packedZarmena writes… The pandemic seems to have forced all the heavy-hitters into 2022. The first quarter of the year is already heavy on the wallet, and with Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights confirmed for the 2022 slate, it looks like the rest of the year won’t be financially easier either. Nevertheless, I’m excited for both games and looking forward to them.In other news, PlayStation London Studio is ramping up recruitment for its PS5 multiplayer game, and Gran Turismo 7 delay rumor has been debunked.
