Multinational esports organisation GIANTX has extended its existing partnership with UK-based bank HSBC UK.

The partnership will see the two brands continue working on activations and projects that aim to educate younger audiences about the importance of financial responsibility.

ESI London 2024

HSBC UK first partnered with EXCEL Esports in March 2023 and has acted as the company’s official financial services partner ever since. The renewed partnership is with GIANTX due to the merger between EXCEL Esports and Spanish esports organisation Giants Gaming that happened late last year.

The partners announced that the goals for the upcoming year are to work with GIANTX’s roster of esports players and content creators to support gaming and esports communities in building ‘better financial knowledge and leading financially healthier lives’. No details about upcoming activations and projects were shared.

Mark Carter, Chief Commercial Officer at GIANTX, commented on the deal: “We’re delighted to have extended our partnership with HSBC UK for another year. Working with HSBC UK gives us a unique opportunity to support esports fans through meaningful financial education, giving them tools to expand their financial health knowledge and well-being while providing them with unique and not-to-be-missed experiences.

The extension is the latest in a string of similar news from GIANTX. Due to the fact that GIANTX has operations in Spain and the UK, most of the recent renewals, including those with Hot Wheels, MAGGI FUSIAN and KitKat were focused on the Spanish side of the newly formed company. The partnership with HSBC UK was initially signed by EXCEL, and is the first major extension on the UK side of GIANTX since the merger in December 2023.
