UFC Vegas 38: Who is Mike Breeden?
Lightweight Mike Breeden might be a relatively unknown name in the world of MMA, but UFC fans should get familiar with him before he makes his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 38.
Breeden will face Alexander Hernandez to kick off the UFC Vegas 38 main card, after back-to-back dominant performances in Fight Alliance Championship. At FAC 5, Breeden threw a nasty head kick that knocked out Ken Beverly cold in the second round.
Breeden enters UFC Vegas 38 with a 10-3 record and is seeking vengeance after failing to turn a UFC contract on Season 4 of Dana White’s Contender Series last year. He suffered a unanimous decision loss and was dominated by Anthony Romero in a third-round bout.
Now, Breeden will step up on short notice to face Hernandez in a massive lightweight matchup. Hernandez was once thought to be the future of the lightweight division but suffered a pair of losses against Drew Dober, Thiago Moises, and Donald Cerrone.

Both men have a lot to prove entering the UFC Vegas 38 event. On his way to the UFC, Breeden has had brief stops at Bellator, Legacy, and FAC. He’s looking to find a full-time home with the UFC and introduce himself to the fanbase as a lightweight to watch going forward.
Breeden has a fan-friendly style that is sure to excite. He is well-known for his forward-pushing style on the feet but also possesses a solid ground game to go with it. He rarely allows fights to go the distance, with eight of his wins coming by way of knockout.
