Generation Zero has received a free update titled Base Assault which adds new story content, fully destructible and procedurally-generated FNIX Base Assault challenges, new control points, and more.While it doesn’t look like the new Base Assault DLC adds any new Generation Zero achievements, it is free for all players and comes loaded with quite a bit of content. The main feature is the addition of the titular Base Assaults — procedurally-generated and fully-destructible FNIX bases filled with turrets, mines, and reinforcement in the Forest region. Each base offers a unique experience, with evolving difficulty levels, differing layouts, and challenges. They’re a great source of loot for players that are able to conquer the challenges within.Alongside the Base Assault challenges, new story missions have been added to expand on the storylines introduced earlier this year. New control points have been introduced, which allow you to earn Command Tokens by taking down FNIX bases. The tokens can then be used to open new buildable locations. With that in mind, you’ll receive a free Base Building Pack loaded with a variety of base-building items. The Generation Zero Base Assault update brings a redesigned Marshland region, an inventory sorting system, and map icon filtering.
