Multinational esports organisation Gen.G has extended its partnership with synthetic motor oil brand Mobil 1 for the 2025 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) season.

According to a release, the new deal will also come with new and limited-edition merchandise, content and streaming opportunities. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The partnership was extended following a successful first campaign. Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing won the Tempest Awards’ Esports Team of the Year in 2023 and achieved strong results from its female division, Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing Black. This included winning GIRLGAMER Esports Festival 2023: Atlanta.

The oil brand will continue to support Gen.G’s efforts in the current season, with the team participating in the RLCS Major 2 in London, England at the Copper Box Arena. Additionally, the organisation’s content creators will support both squads with a series of activations including co-streams, watch parties, interviews and attending live racing and esports events throughout the year.

Since its entry into the Rocket League scene in 2022, Gen.G has gone on to become an RLCS 2022-2023 Fall Major Champion and a two-time RLCS NA Regional Champion. Following the end of Major 1, the team is currently second in North American RLCS standings.

Gen.G has been on a streak of competitive results across multiple titles this year. It recently won this year’s Mid-Season Invitational with its League of Legends team and is currently in the top four at VCT Masters Shanghai. Aside from these three titles, Gen.G fields teams in NBA 2K League, PUBG (both console and mobile) and EA FC.

CEO of Gen.G, Arnold Hur, commented on the deal: “It’s been a really exciting journey to watch Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing continue to grow in impact the last couple of years.

“If it weren’t for the dedication of our staff, our players, and the Mobil 1 brand for seeing our vision, we wouldn’t be where we are today. As we do in other titles, we expect to bring championship-calibre performances every time we hit the field in Rocket League.”
