If you’re still playing and unlocking the Forza Motorsport achievements, Turn 10 has some exciting news for you. A new Forza Motorsport roadmap has revealed a bunch of improvements coming to the Xbox racing game soon, including the long-awaited drift mode, the return of some fan-favorite tracks, and much more. Forza Motorsport 2024 roadmap detailedIn a lengthy blog post, Turn 10 explains that with Update 12, available in mid-September, you can expect a pretty significant change to unlocking reward cars. Turn 10 says it recognizes that players prefer to race in Featured Multiplayer and would like to unlock cars by racing online. Starting with Update 12, Turn 10 says, “Reward cars for each update can be earned either by completing the Featured Tour in Career or by playing a specified number of races in Featured Multiplayer, giving you a choice in how you wish to unlock these cars.” Update 12 will introduce a Challenge Hub, where you can earn credits, cars, and more for completing objectives, whether that’s across Career, Featured Multiplayer, or Rivals, the Challenge Hub will include goals and rewards for all types of players. Turn 10 will also allow you to revisit previous Featured Tours and unlock reward cars that you missed. Later this year, select series and rewards from previous updates will be added to the Builders Cup as permanent additions, and next year, Turn 10 will introduce several permanent race car-focused Tours to Career mode. As for new tracks, Forza Motorsport 4’s Sunset Peninsula, with five layouts to race on, returns in Update 13, which is scheduled for mid-October. Bathurst is also making a comeback with Update 15 in December. Turn 10 also says it’s in the final stages of bringing Spectate mode to Forza Motorsport. Coming with Update 12 in September, Spectate will be available in Private Multiplayer. According to the developer, it “builds upon our previous efforts and includes many new features and improvements that have been requested by the community.” Another big addition that many have been hoping for is the return of Drift Mode. Turn 10 is “actively working” on the mode and expects It to be available “in the coming months.” Once it arrives, a bunch of Formula Drift cars will be added to the Showroom. Turn 10 notes that “Drift mode will be available in Free Play and Private Multiplayer.” On top of this, you will have “the ability to host drop in and out Drift Meetups in Private Multiplayer and can set their highest scores on the leaderboard in a selection of Drift Rivals.” In the future, you can expect a Drift Meetup public lobby in Featured Multiplayer. Elsewhere, Turn 10 is overhauling the Media tab in Forza Motorsport into a Creative Hub, introducing Share Codes, bringing additional weather customization to Free Play and Private Multiplayer, adding audio cues to the Car Proximity Radar, refining Forza Race Regulations, and bringing a new advanced ghosting system to featured Multiplayer. Forza Motorsport has been floating around towards the bottom of our Xbox Gameplay Chart for some time now, but hopefully, with the introduction of these new features and modes, the Xbox exclusive could climb back up to a better position on the starting grid.
