Forza Horizon 5’s next big update adds new cars, accolades, and more

Playground has now detailed the next big update coming to Forza Horizon 5. The Explore the Horizon update introduces new cars, overlanding modifications, photo mode improvements, new accolades, and more.While it looks like there aren’t any new Forza Horizon 5 achievements to unlock with the Explore the Horizon update, there are a bunch of improvements and some new content on the way. Forza Horizon 5’s Explore the Horizon update available May 23The Explore the Horizon update introduces new Pathfinder Challenges to the game. Playground says that 12 unique routes, highlighted by markers, are coming to Free Roam, with three routes available to complete in each week of the next series. By completing a route, you’ll unlock a new accolade. Playground notes that the first accolade is automatically unlocked, and pinning it will set a GPS marker to the start of the first route. The route will be marked by a green balloon at the start and red along the route. “Once the first route has been completed, a second accolade will be unlocked, however it will not be marked on your GPS – you’ll need to refer to the accolade description to find out where the next one starts,” Playground says. “This also applies to the third accolade that is unlocked upon completion of the second route.”Once you’ve completed all three routes in a week, you’ll find a Treasure Chest near the end of the third route. Completing all Pathfinder accolades will see you rewarded with a new player badge and the 1953 Morris Minor Series II Traveler. Six new cars are also coming to Forza Horizon 5. The 2019 DeBerti Ford Super Duty F-250 Lariat ‘Transformer,’ the 1986 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat, the 1972 Chevrolet K-10 Custom, and the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup can all be unlocked during in the next Festival Playlist, while the 2021 Cupra Formentor VZ5 and the 2022 Cupra Tavascan Concept will be given to all who play Forza Horizon 5 during the Explore the Horizon series. Elsewhere, the update introduces new overlanding modifications, which will allow you to live out all your car camping fantasies while exploring those new Pathfinder routes, some new Eventlab props, and a significant upgrade to Forza Horizon 5’s photo mode where you’ll be able to change the time of day, weather, character positions, and more. The Explore the Horizon update for Forza Horizon 5 rolls out to all players on May 23. New series content will be available from Thursday, May 25, until June 22.
