What’s coming for Fortnite Halloween 2023? This is what we know about Fortnitemares 2023 and everything that’s coming alongside it.

Fortnite’s next seasonal event is going to kick off pretty soon. We’re just a short bit away from the launch of Fortnite Halloween 2023. This is going to be a huge event when we’ll limited content starting up. Fortnite Halloween is always a highlight and from leaks so far it seems like we’re getting new items, C4 S4 Mythics, and some exciting Fortnite cosmetics. When is Fortnitemares 2023 kicking off though?

At the moment, it looks like the Fortnite Halloween event will begin within one of the next few updates! We already have a decent idea of what’s coming thanks to some Fortnite leaks. After last year’s Werewolf Extravaganza, there’s a lot to look forward to at the moment. Fortnitemares has become a real highlight of each year’s calendar.

Since we’re within an update or so of the next event starting up, it’s a great time to look at what we know so far. This is everything we know about Fortnitemares 2023 so far.

What to Expect from Fortnitemares 2023

Going into Fortnitemares 2023, there are quite a few things we already know about. Thanks to leakers and some extra info from the C4 S4 Battle Pass trailer, there’s a good idea of what’s going to be next. This is what to expect at Fortnite Halloween 2023:

Kado Thorne’s Transformation

Fortnite Halloween 2023 - Fortnitemares

One major feature of Fortnitemares 2023 has been shown off since the Chapter 4 Season 4 release first got trailed! One of the key parts of the new season has been the boss Kado Thorne. He’s the boss character who has been sitting around in Eclipsed Estates since the season started. In the lore of the game, he’s a character hoarding the returning Mythic weapons that we’re stealing in all of the heists.

As you’ve probably noticed from the Battle Pass, Kado Thorne isn’t just an OP weapon hoarder. He’s also a vampire. His alt style in the Pass sees him transform into a full-on man-bat creature. Are we going to see the second side of Kado Thorne soon? It seems tailor-made for Fortnitemares 2023.

It looks like Kado Thorne’s other vampire-style character will be the boss in his place soon. He might even be moving out of the building for a more expansive experience with the vampire. While it would be new, the character does have wins. A flying boss might even be a possibility. We’re also getting a new item thanks to this boss, although it’s one a few players will have seen before.

Kinetic Blade Returning

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 - Kinetic Blade

A key item from C4 S2 is coming back for this event! We’re going to see the return of the Kinetic Blade. It’s an item which couples a melee attack with a special rotation tool. You blink forward a considerable space, instantly, without even leaving a trail. It’s a speedy movement tool and even makes you invulnerable, so you don’t take any damage. It’s a great way to get around the map and even deal damage. We’ll be seeing this return in Fortnitemares 2023, at least according to a few leakers and the original trailer.

We first saw Kado Thorne with a Kinetic Blade back in the original trailer for the season. Fortnite leakers seem to think it’ll be coming back for the new event too.

Broomstick Returning

One other item that’s always a Halloween hit is the Broomstick. This has been around for most past instalments of Fortnitemares. It’s a basic mobility tool but one that adds quite a lot to the game. The kind of item that doesn’t entirely break things, but is pretty fun in the game.

It knocks players up in the air, then you can redeploy your glider or broomstick to ride along for a while. You can use it as much as you want outside of a small cooldown. It’s fantastic for getting around the map easier. It’s got the visuals of using a flying broomstick. However, it’s essentially the same item as the Fortnite Dragon Ball Nimbus Clous or other similar rotation tools.

The Broomstick is getting a change for Fortnitemares 2023 though. It’s getting a Mythic version! We have leaked art for this new item, but we don’t know if this will be the only version or just a powered up form. If it returns as a standard item, the mythic could have less of a cooldown or other improvements to make it worth seeking out. We’ll have to wait and see how Epic decides to balance it this season.

Vampire Shotgun

Fortnite Halloween 2023 - Fortnitemares

One leaked weapon for Fortnitemares we don’t know too much about is the Vampire Shotgun. It has been found in the files, but we don’t really know what’s going to make it different just yet.

With a name like the Vampire Shotgun though, it could have a siphon-style mechanic. Such as claiming back some health or shield whenever you place a hit on an enemy player. This could be an interesting mechanic, but we don’t know too much about the Vampire Shotgun so far.

Other Returning Items

While not exactly confirmed yet, there are a couple of items which come back to Fortnitemares nearly every year. We can probably expect the trick-or-treat sweets to make a return. These are minor forms of heals that are dotted around to keep things interesting. There’s also the Rocket Launcher, which comes back as the Pumpkin Launcher. Both of these might be popping up for Fortnitemares 2023.

What Else is Changing for Fortnitemares 2023?

Fortnite Halloween 2023 - Fortnitemares

Another factor we could expect to change is the current balance of weapons and mythics. Put bluntly, it’s already packed. There are the Star Wars items, half the My Hero Academia stuff, along with all of the C4 S4 Vaults with their own Mythics. Plus ones from each boss and every other area, basically loads. How do we make room for Fortnitemares too?

We know the MHA item is sticking around until the end of the season, Epic’s been quite clear there. Then there’s the Heist Mythics which are the central part of the season so probably won’t be going anywhere. It looks like we might be losing the Star Wars items to make room. Although, that’s just speculation. We already had the Find the Force event this year with a lengthy outing for lightsabers. Maybe those items will be leaving early to make room. It’s perfectly possible all this is staying and the game will just be really, really packed for the final C4 season though.

When Does Fortnite Halloween 2023 Start?

Fortnite Halloween 2023 - Fortnitemares

That’s what we know about Fortnitemares 2023 so far. When will it actually start up though? We’re probably expecting it pretty soon. This Tuesday’s update was a more minor one with just a single item added in. That usually means next week’s will be a bigger update.

Since we’re already fully into Spooky season and October, it’s going to be coming sooner rather than later. It seems most likely that Tuesday October 10 will be the date of the Fortnitemares 2023 update. It could be coming the week after on October 17 though. Either of these days would make sense for the Fortnite Halloween 2023 event.

The game will be reaching a pretty fun point for the season in Fortnitemares 2023. It’s always a highlight of this time of year. This year’s set-up is to be an exciting event and we’ll learn for certain what’s coming when the event starts up in the next few patches.
