Fortnite: FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 7 Finals Recap & Results

ESTNN recaps the final leaderboards and storylines from the FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 7 Finals.

Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Finalists across the game’s seven competitive regions saw their season come to an end today with the Season 7 Finals. For two consecutive days, 33 talented trios had their chance to win a piece of the $3M USD prize pool and the Axe of Champions in-game reward, ultimately cementing them as one of the world’s best trios. However, it would not come without a rollercoaster of emotions.

Twelve games and six hours of competitive Fortnite separated all contestants from the glory of becoming an FNCS Champion. Only seven trios would claim the Axe of Champions, but life-changing cash prizes and a guaranteed seat in the Season 8 Finals provided teams enough incentive to put forth their best effort. There’s a lot to recap in the wake of Fortnite’s tenth seasonal championship tournament, so let’s see who emerged victorious in each region.

Europe

Insane Finish to the European Region

Day one produced chaos and drama as far as the eye could see after a round of accidental bans nullified the results in games four and five. That incident meant the European finalists would run an eight-match gauntlet on the final day. The leaderboard saw more changes than anyone could have anticipated. MrSavage, TaySon, Stompy and more flirted with victory, but the day one leader found themselves back in front following a long four-hour marathon.

The Russian/Ukranian Trio Run the Table

Victory looked far from reach for day one leaders—Kiryache, Toose and Stormyrite. Many of the region’s top trio made moves up the leaderboard while the Russian and Ukrainian combination stayed afloat. In game number ten, a Victory Royale out of Kiryache’s team put them right back into striking distance of first-place. The final match was the difference-maker. Ten teams were in a position to claim the Axe of Champions, but Kiryache was not ready to let the victory slip away.

The Russian player put his downed teammates on his back and went on a solo run for the books. With limited resources, Kiryache navigated the low ground beautifully, compiling points toward their two-day total. As the final Victory Royale screen rolled, Kiryache, Stormyrite and Toose stood victorious on the leaderboard with 295 points. They have rightfully claimed their first Axe of Champions and are now $300K USD richer.

Trippernn & Company Rally Back from Accidental Ban on Day One

It took mental fortitude for trippernn, Hottie and elokratz to bounce back from the stress of day one. Epic Games’ accidental ban on trippernn and others sent the entire scene into a confused frenzy. The three players showed heart and composure on day two, where they completed a six-elimination Victory Royale in match seven. With a potential victory in the crosshair, trippernn, Hottie and elokratz managed a fourth and third-place finish to close games 11 and 12.

Their consistent performance on day two led to 282 points overall, which included 45 eliminations and an average placement of 10.08–the highest of the entire tournament. Trippernn, Hottie and elokratz earned $210K USD and a free ride to the Chapter 2 – Season 8 FNCS Finals.

Stompy Returns to Form with Top-Three Finish

Competitive Fortnite fans from the World Cup era should remember Stompy as perhaps the most dominant player for a period. He proceeded to win the inaugural trio FNCS back in Season X and has returned to form two years later. Stompy, nebs and pinq anticipated an uncontested Lazy Lake in the Season 7 Finals but instead had to deal with constant spawn fights.

The three players finished with two Victory Royales in total and 58 eliminations—the most of any trio in the finals. Stompy, nebs and pinq finished with 277 points on the leaderboard, netting them $135K USD to split and a free pass to next season’s FNCS Season 8 Finals. You never know what to expect in competitive Fortnite, and not many anticipated a complete performance from Stompy, nebs and pinq.

NA East

Dukez, Justice & Userz Win in Dramatic Fashion

Catty Corner residents Dukez, Justice and Userz silenced all of their critics with a historic FNCS victory. On day one, the three players led the field with 225 points, but no lead is safe in competitive Fortnite. Dukez, Justice and Userz struggled out of the gate on day two with three sub-par games to start. With first place slipping away, they turned their luck around over the final three games.

Dukez, Justice and Userz rifled off a 3rd, 15th and a tournament-clinching Victory Royale coming home. Many doubted this trio’s position heading into the final stretch, but their performance was perhaps the most inspiring of Chapter 2 – Season 7. The new Axe of Champions holders celebrated on Twitter and will collect $45K USD each for their historical FNCS victory.

Cented, Commandment & Edgey Finish Second … Again

It seemed three-time FNCS runners-up Cented, Commandment and Edgey were finally heading toward their first Axe of Champions. The ultra-consistent trio sat 48 points behind Justice’s team heading into day two, with six games left to play. While it seemed insurmountable, Fortnite is an unpredictable competitive game and Cented, Commandement and Edgey were perfectly capable of overcoming the odds.

Unfortunately, that would not come to fruition as most expected. Cented’s team produced a third and fifth-place finish over the final six games, which left them 38 points behind first. Alas, the perennial second-place finishers have yet again settled into an all-too-familiar spot. Nonetheless, they earned another $105K USD to split and will cruise into the Season 8 Finals with hopes of winning their first Axe of Champions. The saga continues for Cented, Commandment and Edgey.

TabzG, noob teyo & Plege Secure Top-Three

Who could have guessed that two Cinderella stories would unfold in the NA East region? The underdog team of TabzG, noob teyo and Plege shocked everyone with their steady performance through all 12 matches of the NA East Finals. This trio ended their first six matches on day one with 175 points, putting them only two behind Cented, Commandment and Edgey. TabzG’s team fed off that energy and continued to find success on the final day of the competition.

Despite faltering in the last three matches, TabzG, noob teyo and Plege put forth an admirable day of Fortnite. They finished 9th, 2nd and 5th to open the back half of games and ended in third place on the leaderboard with 286 points. Like all other top-three teams, they will not have to worry about qualifying for the FNCS Finals next season. We’ll have to see how they follow this impressive showing in Season 8.
