Follow the Meaning, a Surreal, Samorost-Like Point-and-Click Adventure, Is Out Now

Follow the meaning is a new surreal point-and-click adventure on Android. With a strange mystery, it has hand-drawn art style similar to Rusty Lake or Samorost. The vibe is kind of similar too, being whimsical on the surface, but with a weird tension bubbling underneath.

Second Maze Has Developed and Published Follow the Meaning

You poke around in a quiet, off-kilter little town, playing as a detective who’s clearly in over his head. You are Paul Trilby, a detective who’s been called to a bizarre island town.

The town has a wall slicing through it and a hospital that seems to run the whole show. People go in and come out of the hospital with zero memory of who they were.

You step into this odd world and figure everything out through strange conversations and puzzles. You’ll find little hints everywhere.

There are a variety of puzzles in Follow the meaning. You’ll run into memory tests, hidden object hunts, logic challenges and classic inventory puzzles.

The soundtrack plays a big part in setting that mood. There’s soft piano, jazz and even more intense music depending on what’s going on.

The art is quite amazing as I mentioned before. You’ll see how the game has drawn inspiration from games like Samorost. Catch a glimpse below and see for yourself!

The Story Has Layers, Too

There’s something very human about the way the story in Follow the meaning is told. There’s the surface-level mystery about the hospital and the missing memories. But you’ll also come across some deeper stuff if you pay attention.

The game has multiple endings. Quiet, reflective and a little haunting, Follow the meaning is now available on Android for $2.99. Go ahead and get it from the Google Play Store.
