FlyQuest vs Team Liquid 2024 LCS Spring Playoffs Grand Finals Recap

Game 1

FlyQuest vs Team Liquid

In the first draft, the teams picked standard compositions: Volibear, Smolder (who is still very strong on Patch 14.5), Karma and such. However, FlyQuest surprised everyone when Bwipo whipped out the Urgot who is a counter to K’Sante daring Impact to pick the Pride of Nazumah.

The first and second kills were secured by the botlane of TL with a bit of help from UmTi, who scored a pentakill versus Cloud9. TL continued the aggression, putting Yeon’s Smolder up 2 kills before the early game ended.

TL didn’t get an incredible lead in the first 14 minutes, they dove into the midgame comfortably. While FlyQuest tried to find ways to bounce back into the game, they could’t get any angles. Team Liquid continued their aggression with APA joining the fray as well. Before minute 19, FlyQuest got their first kill – in a teamfight that Team Liquid started and finished as well.

The landslide continued in the later parts of the midgame, with Team Liquid winning all the fights leading up to the first Baron Nashor of the game without losing members. The gold difference grew to 7k by this moment, and the chance for FlyQuest to fight back in the first match grew ever slimmer. Soon after, Yeon hit 225 stacks on unnerfed Smolder, and TL managed to end this statement of a game.
