We highlight 5 players who you’ll want to keep your eyes on at TI 11.
After waiting for one year, The International 11 is almost here. The end of ESL One Malaysia 2022 marked an end to the big pre-TI events. As a result, the best players in the world, as well as the fans, are now preparing for what is to come.
The 2022 Battle Pass was released a couple of days, which means that TI’s prize pool is still on the rise. The event is due to begin a month from now, so it will be interesting to see the total prize pool.
Since The International is Dota 2’s most important tournament of the year, it will attract the best teams in the world. Unsurprisingly, they consist of the best individual players, which is why this article will go over some of them.
Since some of the TI qualifiers are not over yet, the article will include players from the teams that secured enough DPC points for a direct invitation. Expect more information about the other top players once the quals are over.
Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov
The 17-year-old superstar from OG definitely deserves a spot on the list because he is one of the best players in the world right now. Like everyone else from OG’s squad, bzm came into the big scene this year. The two times TI winning organization decided to get an entirely new roster that consisted of five young players, and it seems like this was a good decision.
Bzm had the uneasy task of filling in Topson’s role, one of the best midders of all time. Most people expected the inexperienced player to have difficulties, but bzm quickly proved he is one of the best in his role.
His amazing performance with Storm Spirit allowed his team to win the ESL One Stockholm 2022, which was the first Major of the DPC. Bzm continued to impress with loads of other heroes, such as Invoker, Puck, and more.
Bzm’s most recent dominant performance was during ESL One Malaysia 2022 just a couple of weeks ago. Together with Ammar and Yuragi, OG won yet another LAN event, which definitely makes them one of the favorites for TI.
Wang “Ame” Chunyu
Although most people think that a team from Europe will win The International 11, there is one Chinese squad that can stop everyone. PSG.LGD has been the best team from China in the last couple of years. Despite making a massive roster change, the team continues to dominate everything.
One of the reasons for LGD’s success in the last year is their carry player Ame. Like him or not, he’s proven himself as one of the best pos1 players in the world. The 25-year-old is notorious for being one of the best Morhpling and Terrorblade players. He is also famous for his skills to adapt and do whatever needs to be done to win.
2022 has been very successful for Ame and the rest of his team. PSG.LGD dominated in China’s DPC and had no problems securing a slot for the Majors. Speaking of the devil, PSG didn’t win the PGL Arlington Major but did very well.
With that said, Ame’s biggest success yet is winning the Riyadh Masters 2022. Although this was not a DPC event, it had a massive prize pool and LGD won $1.5M.
Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
There isn’t a passionate Dota 2 player that hasn’t heard of Arteezy. He is one of the most popular professional players in the world and one of the few pros who stream regularly. Despite his glorious career, RTZ is yet to win the most prestigious event in Dota 2.
People who followed Arteezy’s career between 2013 and 2015 know that he changed the team she was playing in all the time. In fact, he was a part of EG and Secret a total of four times before he moved to EG in 2016. He’s been there ever since, but EG is yet to win The International for the second time following the team’s success in 2015.
Arteezy had to switch his position several times, but he is mostly known as one of the best carry players. Nevertheless, he was also the team’s mid-laner because he is notorious for being one of the best SF and Invoker players.
Despite dominating in the DPC, EG is yet to show its prowess against the best in the world. Needless to say, TI 11 is one of the best places to do that.
Armel “Armel” Tabios
SEA is one of the places with the most active and passionate Dota 2 fans in the world. Lucky for them, BOOM Esports and Fnatic secured direct invitations for TI 11. Speaking of the devil, the event itself will be held in Singapore, so fans can go and check it.
Speaking of Fnatic, we have to mention the team’s mid-laner Armel. The 22-year-old has been a part of the professional Dota 2 scene since 2016. He was a part of a couple of top teams before joining TNC. After spending three years there, he decided to move to Fnatic, and he’s been there ever since.
Armel is always one of the best-performing players on his team. He got the chance to shine lately after defeating SumaiL in a 1v1 match at ESL One Malaysia 2022. His victory allowed Fnatic to go to the Upper Bracket, whereas Nigma Galaxy had to fight in the Lower Bracket.
Herrera “Darkmago” Gonzalo
The last name on the list may surprise some of you, but Darkmago is actually one of the best South American players. He’s been a part of a couple of top-tier teams in the region until he became a part of Thunder Awaken. The latter has been the most dominant team in the region and has little to no competition apart from beastcoast.
Like other mid-laners, Darkmago can play every popular hero. However, he is notorious for being one of the world’s best Kunkka and Tiny players. That’s one of the reasons why his team continues to pick these heroes in the current meta.
